Fabulous 50’s style diner. Tons of history. Our waitress was excellent and gave us a history lesson on the place. Many of the staff are there years and years. All the local specialties on offer at excellent value. So good we went the next day for breakfast. Full lunch and dinner menu available.
We had a reservation for breakfast for a party of 6 on Friday, 10/13/23, at 10:00 am. There were plenty of open tables, but a reservation would probably be a good call on a weekend! I wish I remembered our waitress’s name. She was wonderful!
I got the Three Egg Omelet ($11.99). It was very good with a very generous amount of vegetables! The biscuit and potatoes were great!
I got the Cherry Famous Soda ($4.99). Would not recommend. It didn’t have much flavor.
Others got the Fried Chicken & Biscuits ($12.99) and Two Pancakes & Two Eggs ($13.99) and they enjoyed them.
Good service and good food!
What a nostalgic experience. This diner has a 1950's ambiance coupled with some good ole southern cooking. The patty melt was darn right delicious, and the fries were excellent. The staff were super friendly, adding a dose of that southern hospitality. I didn't get to try any milk shakes, but I will definitely have to on my next visit. The made from scratch pies look amazing. We were too full from lunch, but I may have to save a little room next time because there is nothing better than some homemade southern pie.
It’s a fun nostalgic place with breath taking pies! Had breakfast there and you can get authentic country ham and red eye gravy. It was good for diner food. Fun place to go downtown and has a great breakfast menu!
This place is very good. We got burgers and fries and onion rings. Maybe next time we will get a shake. Our server was so sweet. I haven't been here since high school. We love the charm and the history of the restaurant. Play a song on the jukebox! You have to.
Was in Nashville for a doctors appointment and was looking for a different restaurant to try than the usual ones we visited, and wow, did we pick a good one!!!! Walked in and were immediately seated, ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer, and wow!!! The flavor was amazing! Probably the best fried pickles I've had yet,i ordered the cheeseburger with onion rings as a side,it was very flavorful and fresh! The pickles and onion on it were like it was just cut from fresh. The onion rings were very warm and the batter had a good flavor to it,they also had salt sprinkled on them which i liked alot! we ordered dessert, but it was so delicious we ate it before i could take a picture! Pecan pie with vanilla ice cream on top! They heated the pecan pie so the ice cream slightly melted on it and wow it was very delicious!!! Will definitely return and try their other menu items!!! If in the area, definitely stop in and give it a try! Made a return trip today 7-6-23 Ordered the same exact meal as last time and still amazingly fresh and delicious!!! Definitely will return again and again!
I found this place online while waiting for a surgery to complete. It is a huge establishment while having all the specialties of a small, local diner.
It was early so there wasn't a wait.
The server came over with coffee and water. I ordered bacon, egg and cheese on a biscuit and was pleasantly surprised. The egg portion was rather large, there was just enough bacon and the biscuit was fairly moist. Anyplace I've been to in the past, the biscuits I've had could best be equated to eating a piece of sandpaper. The flavors came together nicely.
The next time I'm in Nashville I'll come back and try a milkshake.
Fantastic brunch. My husband got nostalgic eating his meal of fried Bologna the reminded him of his southern raised Grandfather. Wonderful atmosphere, fast service, amazing food. It was all cooked to perfection. The biscuits were outstanding and don’t pass up the opportunity to get a flavored soda.
Remodeled old school soda shop with plug ins at each booth and great wi-fi. Very convenient location to the treatment center; stopped in several days (for dine in and takeout, breakfast and lunch) while waiting. Gets busy during peak hours but otherwise not too bad. Servers are nice but you don't get the feeling like there are many regulars (you know, where the employees and customers greet each other like old friends). You can see Ms. Linda (the pie maker?) working around the establishment. The busser was very friendly, helpful, and really pulled the place together.
Food was decent. Biscuits are heavy and goes well with gravy. Sausage biscuit sandwhich was very good. Bacon was crispy and eggs cooked well. Hot chicken was dissappointing. Pies were okay. Chesse grits and fried pickles were delicious. The banana split looked delicious and I wish I had room or my friend was well enough to split it with. Maybe I'll get a chance to have it someday.
Stopped in for a Monday morning brunch. Front of house team were all super welcoming. Had the Fried Chicken and Biscuits - perfect size dish, great fried chicken and pepper gravy that was just right. Also, old school shakes with enough for two helpings. Great vibes, great breakfast.
