Hattie B’s is our favorite hot chicken place to eat in Nashville. My husband and I eat there whenever we can get over to one. We have also ordered trays of tenders for parties, and the chicken always disappears. I recommend Hattie B’s when anyone asks for a good place to eat in Nashville. There is a reason there is always a line at their door!! It’s consistent, no matter the location, and it’s ALWAYS delicious!!!
We celebrated my daughter’s 22nd birthday! There was an overhang to keep us dry, the food was so delicious! Moist, tasty chicken and the best sides! Make sure you get the greens and pimento Mac and cheese! The most reasonably priced meal! Would love to have one closer! The servers were kind and efficient!
Must try for Tourists and Cheap Things To Try in Nashville:
Exceptional hot chicken sandwich with different levels of spice to try. Comes with your choice of sauce. I ordered the Damn Hot Chicken Sandwich with blue cheese and comeback sauce. In my option, The Comeback sauce was better as it mellowed out the spice more). Mac and Cheese and Potato salad was excellent.
Interior has a modern design, bathrooms were clean, and service was swift. Thanks Hattie B’s!
My daughter, her husband and I stopped in on the way to the airport. We didn’t medium heat - not super hot - but the more you eat, the hotter it becomes (as goes with any heat). The fries were amazing, love that they actually do an entire breast on the sandwich and love the coleslaw on the sandwiches.
Great atmosphere, super busy but they serve quickly - a must go!
Hattie B’s is Great. They offer fast service + a lot of seating. This was a Tuesday night so it was not packed. The food was fresh but it is greasy. The lemonade was fresh as well. The fries were crispy. The bathrooms were clean. They offer clothing items as well. I will be back.
Simply the best and absolutely lives up to the hype. This wasn’t my first time here and certainly won’t be the last!
Chicken is somehow plump & juicy, yet light & crispy and always perfectly golden. I love “The Sandwich”, mild with lots of comeback sauce and my husband goes for the “Jumbo Tenders” hot. Pimento Mac is creamy and delicious and the fries are always crispy! Make sure to get some sweet tea with a splash of lemonade!
Staff is wonderful and friendly and the line moves much quicker than expected. Staff checks in to offer water and takes some drink orders! Hooray! Boozy lemonade makes any line move quicker, I think! We’ll be back next time we’re in Nashville!
Absolutely worth the hype.
The chicken was amazing.
Collard greens and peach cobbler were great, Mac and cheese not so.
Warning: If you want to enjoy your meal (and I enjoy hot food!) do not go over medium. I watched someone sweating and eating the hot spice level clearly as a college dare clearly in pain! Very funny though to watch.
It gets very very busy, so be prepared for a wait, however you will be rewarded for your wait.
Car park spaces are limited onsite. Limited paid parking on the street.
I ate lunch at Hattie B's twice. The food is good. For those who love spicy food, Hattie is definitely worth checking out. I ate the hottest wings in the menu, "Shut the Cluck Up!!!" I believe, the hot pepper is Ghost Pepper.
There was a line going out the door on both visits. However, the line went smoothly.
As for the atmosphere, it is a good place to mingle--busy, noisy, and lively. The place reminds me a little bit of the 1960's.
Coming from England I’ve seen the reviews about how good the chicken was and personally I thought no fast food place could be that good!
How wrong I was! I had the half chicken hot, and my god it’s tasty, it’s crunchy, it’s delicious, absolutely fantastic!
The fries were nice, the greens too, but my god that’s some Gordon Ramsey level fried chicken!
Now we shared a table of 6 with two other groups of two, one of whom had brought 1 tender at the mother clucker hot or whatever the hottest level was, the lovely lady let us all have a sample, this led to 6 adults coughing, spluttering, crying, gulping water for 10 minutes!!!! Absolutely fire breathing dragon hot, only try it if you’re used to red hot food!
We all had a good giggle and bonded around our pain, then went out different ways.
We got an Uber for 10 dollars to avoid downtown queues, bargain.
Staff are really friendly too and the restaurant is very cool.
First time trying Nashville Hot Chicken, and I was not disappointed! The hot chicken paired well with the Belgian waffle, and the pickles were fried to perfection. Definitely adding this restaurant to my list of regular eating spots.
The potato salad here is really good! It's the perfect balance of tangy, sweet, and salty. Their mac & cheese is SO soft and creamy, though the noodles did feel a tad bit over cooked but it didn't really matter that much. The chicken sandwich I'd rate a 7.5/10. It had good flavor and the chicken itself was crispy and juicy, but overall the sandwich tasted kind of plain. Putting the cole slaw and more sauce helped a lot. Overall, satisfied and would eat here again!
This restaurant is amazing! We had a great experience from the time we walked in. Anywhere you can buy a forty of Miller High Life, you know it's going to be good. The chicken is very good. We tried the hot, damn hot, and shut the cluck up. Don't underestimate the heat on these. The staff was very friendly and really helpful with our first visit.
