Review The Listening Room Cafe - Nashville, Tn - Nashville

We loved spending our evening listening to the up and coming artists and songwriters of country music! The atmosphere is very relaxing! Doors open 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance but all are welcome to enjoy a drink at the bar prior to being seated. The prices are reasonable as well! Parking is by valet and is the most efficient method of parking for this venue. The food was very good and our server, Brittany, was attentive and friendly! Water is at a cost as they serve Liquid Death canned water. There is a self serve hydration station out by the bar but was empty while we were there. Overall, this is a fantastic spot to spend your evening to hear some great music and enjoy a bite to eat!

Great place to visit and hear music, you can actually enjoy the musicians. Laid back and intimate, during our visit the musicians came off stage and visited with the audience. The food was good, the atmosphere could be slightly better but overall we enjoyed the experience.

Loved the place. Nashville next stars get a chance to perform with a captured audience who are there to listen to great music. If just want to hear music and stories about music check this place out.

LRC is located in downtown Nashville. We paid $3 to park nearby. We made reservations, but on Monday at lunchtime, there were plenty of tables available. Our server Dylan was excellent. We ordered a potabella mushroom burger, smash burger, chicken tenders, French fries, and mac and cheese. Very fresh and tasty.

This was one of the best music venues we have been to in years. There wasn't a bad seat in the house and the staff was very friendly. We can't wait to go back!

GREAT music and entertainment from top-tier song writers accompanied by good food and drink. If you're looking for a taste of Nashville, You should go here. Excellent staff - many of which are singers and songwriters themselves - warm atmosphere, clean and comfortable spaces, great sound. Valet parking is available ($15 at the time), with a few parking spaces for free just in front of the building if you're early (or lucky) enough to catch a open one.

Tried to get tickets to bluebird cafe but didn't work out, so we ended up at Listening Room instead. We booked a 2 hour lunch performance which we enjoyed. The performers seem to be more local but they all had good talent and played enjoyable music. Keep in mind when you buy tickets that there is a minimum price you are expected to spend on food and drink while there. If you can't get tickets to bluebird then this place is a great alternative

We stopped by at noon so caught the lunchtime tunes show. Beautiful voice and such a sweet girl. Nice relaxed vibe, good beer and attentive hosts. Well worth a visit.

I was spending a couple of nights in Nashville and this venue was recommended to me by a local person as a great place for me to check out up and coming talent in Nashville. They were so right! I ordered tickets ahead of time as they suggested and I sat at the bar since I was by myself but I had a perfect view of the stage and the sound was absolutely fantastic. I got to see five performers that night on stage and hear their stories and their songs and every single one of them was so unique and very wonderful. There is a food and drink minimum so I ordered the soft pretzels and I actually got a cucumber spritzer cause I wasn't really drinking yet that night, and I was very pleasantly surprised at how wonderful it was. Make sure you check out this listening room if you're in the area.

MUST SEE!!!!!!!! The performers are excellent writers, great performers, and good ok stage. They were able to perform with each other very well, and had great chemistry between songs. The venue is well put together, and has distinct styling. Food is rather good too. Great ambiance, great people, great experience!

TLR is a must stop for us when we visit Nashville! This trip did not disappoint. I am in town for a work conference at the Gaylord. We arrived early so we caught the 6pm show as well! So glad we did! Aly Cutter, Adam Warner, Matt Addison Chandler and Karen Staley were fabulous! They got some new followers from AZ! The later show is what brought us back to TLR! We have seen Ava Paige play there twice now, we just love her. She is so talented! We followed Kristen Merlin from the voice and Kristen shared/introduces Ava to her fans via IG. Now we are fans of both! This week we added Jon Mullins and Matt Wynn to our list to follow. Aside from the musicians, we just love the venue. There is not a bad seat in the house! Good food, great musicians and great service. Can’t wait till our next trip back!

If you want to really listen to music, not party, this is the place. We got the chance to be up close and personal with songwriters/musicians. One of our best experiences in Nashville.

Polite audience... there for the music, not to talk about their grocery list over listening to the performers. Great staff as well! Friendly & not pushy. So glad we found out about this venue thru other patrons.

If you can't get into the Buebird Cafe (which you probably can't), this is a wonderful alternative. We had drinks only, so can't comment on the food, but the four musicians who played their compositions individually on a rotating basis, were oustanding. Would return, most definately.

This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip while visiting Nashville!! Dustin, the manager, was so kind and accommodating when my friends and I had to postpone our girls' trip, but had already purchased tickets for a show. He made sure our tickets could be used at a later date and even reserved us a table close to the stage. The show and dinner service were excellent. This is a must-do when visiting Nashville!

My husband and I recently visited Nashville, from Maryland, to attend a concert. Prior to arriving, I researched top places to go in Nashville and “The listening room”was listed. So, I made us a reservation for Thursday night. We were absolutely blown away! It’s an intimate venue with amazing talent. The singer/songwriters are immensely talented and it was so special to be able to hear the inspiration for each of the songs they sang. We enjoyed it so much that we booked tickets for the following night as well. Each night, different songwriters performed and we throughly enjoyed each night. If you’re visiting Nashville, this needs to be on the top of your list. In addition to the impressive talent, the food and service were also great! We can’t wait to return next year!

Loved The Listening Room. The musicians were amazing! Very talented, funny and friendly. We appreciate them talking and taking photos with us at the end of their session. Food was good. The Buffalo Chicken dip was a hit at our table. Highly recommend this place for dinner and entertainment.

This place was recommended to me on my way to Nashville and it did NOT disappoint. The staff was kind and helpful, the venue was intimate, not super fancy, but the singer/songwriters were sharing the stories behind their songs before they sang them. We heard some incredibly talented artists and it was so great we went back for a second night. The shows are very reasonably priced and you will NOT be disappointed! A must when you're in Nashville if you're a true music fan!

The Listening Room is an awesome place to listen to music. The food is delicious (I had the turkey apple crisp sandwich and fries, YUM). The service was great. And the atmosphere in the "listening room" is amazing. They don't cram it full and everyone actually LISTENS (which is the point). Loved it and can't wait to go back.

My favorite place to come in Nashville! The food, music, and service is great and the new building looks amazing! The new additions to the menu are top notch and if you're lucky, Keith Urban might show up!

Went to the Listening Room Cafe this past Saturday Night for the early show and ended up staying for the late show as well. I consider this an absolute must if you’re visiting Nashville. The writers shows were fantastic. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the real Nashville music scene. Staff is excellent also. The only negative found was their reservation/seating process is really disorganized. Also the food certainly isn’t gourmet but that’s not the reason to go. Thanks LRC and Sarah at the bar for a great night.

Just had the Cranberry Walnut Salad! Giving it 5 stars! It was delicious! Generous portion & fresh..... and a good price! The staff was friendly and it was just good experience all the way around! Will definitely order this salad again!

Absolutely wonderful place for music 5 out of 5. As for food, it's good, but I've not had a single order go right out of five or six times of ordering at this point. Absolutely go and order drinks and see a show though. Great original, live music scene. A must visit just unfortunately not a must eat.

The listening room has been a staple for when friends and family came in town. It never failed to impress. However, the new location is horrible. There was nothing explaining that there was a check in process people were confused trying to find where the line was. Once you managed to figure out how and where to check in, they have to escort you to your table through a small hallway that takes an extremely long time. About half of the audience wasn’t seated when the show began and still wasn’t until about 4 songs in. The new space has many tables that have an obstructed view, I was seated all the way in the front but so far right I couldn’t even see 2 of the performers. All together this was a clunky, inefficient and severely disappointing experience. You have lost a customer. Don’t waste your time!

We too had a very disappointing experience. We literally received our food at the last song. When I asked the waiter where our food was he had no idea what I had even ordered. No apology, and thought we were going to just pay the bill! Spoke with a manager who was very apologetic and offered to take some of the items off the bill which took her at least 15 minutes to figure out what to do which at that point should have been to just comp the entire meal. Too much work for a night out.

Great place, I thought it was better than bluebird cafe. The only negative was the wait staff delivered drinks to the wrong table(they were numbered) and they didn't have a way to differentiate a coke from tea except guessing( they guessed wrong)
Hannah Potts
Music and service is great but the food is sub par. Got a dessert and it tasted freezer burnt. They brought me another and it had the same problem. Improve the food!! Also like half of their menu was unavailable.

What an awesome venue to hear some top notch music. The acoustics were wonderful. The management and service was excellent. We can not wait to come back on our next visit to Nashville. Make sure it’s on your list of must do’s when visiting Nashville!

I can't say enough good things about The Listening Room. The new location is beautiful! There isn't a bad seat in the house. The staff is extremely kind and accommodating, and the sound technician was awesome to work with. We hosted a benefit concert there and everyone who attended raved about the venue. Many thanks to owner Chris Blair for continuing to provide a home for Nashville singer/songwriters! This town is blessed to call The Listening Room Cafe one of its best songwriter venues!
Amy Rubenson Jerabek
Invited by a friend while visiting Nashville. The venue was comfortable, the food was great and it was really fun and meaningful to hear the songwriters sing the songs they helped create. Highly recommend!!

Great venue to sit, sip, have a bite to eat and most importantly listen to talented performers. Perfect way to spend a Saturday evening in Nashville!
