Amazing sandwich. I wish I could say I was a normal person and only had one sandwich, but I didn't... I had two - and a beer. It was delicious. One of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Both of them were. I had the italian and the reuben. Both incredible, both delicious. Cool spot too. Traffic and parking was a little redonkulous, but oh well, the price you pay for a good sandwich.
Go here.. yes, you, the person that is reading the review, wondering if it is worth your time to drive here for a sandwich? It is, don't be a silly neener head and get your rumbling tummy here for sandwich deliciousness
Ever since I saw the review by Adam Richman about the Asian Flank Steak sandwich here they have been on my food bucket list...LOL
This sandwich is incredible with a cacophony of flavors in each bite. The bread is old school artisan and goes well with the steak. The gardiniera mix they use on this sandwich is different than anything I have ever enjoyed on a sandwich. It gives you different tastes, though subtle, in every bite.
The other sandwiches, salad bar, and soups look equally delicious. This place is well worth the drive from Murfreesboro!!! Was my first visit...but won't be my last!
I stumbled upon this hidden gem during breakfast hours and ordered lunch lol The service was fast and friendly and the muffeletta sandwich was delicious. They had lots of breakfast offerings too and both indoor and outdoor seating. Had to get the zapps chips to go with my New Orleans sandwich. Highly recommend!
Wow wow wow, great sandwiches! We arrived at opening time but it was closed due to a power outage. We had to wait an hour extra to get our sandwiches, it was worth the wait. We’re from out of town and we’re just passing through so next time we’re in TN, we’ll stop in again!
So nice to see some quality plant based options! The Veggie Bagel with homemade hummus was delicious and the Vegan Garam Masala soup was fresh and full of flavor!
After relocating to Nashville in recent months, my husband and I have been asking around for great sandwich spots. A few have been suggested, but the common spot we've been referred is Mitchell's. We've tried to stop in several times, but it's always packed on weekends...(Great sign, when it's clearly a popular spot.) We finally were able to stop in for lunch on a weekday and weren't disappointed.
Love the little local-goods store when you walk in, seeing they support other local businesses is always refreshing to see. The food was FANTASTIC and the bread wasn't too crispy that it destroyed the roof of my mouth. It was perfect. We were able to grab a local craft beer as well, and the outdoor seating made for a cozy dining experience.
Icing on the cake was to see their clear instructions on food and waste disposal. I would love to see more establishments support these sustainability efforts. Well done Mitchell Deli!
We came here upon recommendation of my sister and her husband and were pleased overall with the experience. Their food prices are reasonable for Nashville and their food quality is good with their Reuben definitely being the standout. I wasn’t necessarily a fan of the process and packaging (wonky-ish flow and I guess they make everything to go regardless? The stiff butcher paper was cumbersome…) but the atmosphere was nice, although there wasn’t any music on our visit which was unusual imo. I didn’t see any side options besides chips (fruit, salads, and soup would be nice) and I would have appreciated more warmth and direction from the staff after I indicated to the register clerk that it was our first time, but otherwise no issues really. I would have liked to have sampled their artisan on-tap sodas but wasn’t aware of them until I got my water.
Would we go back? Yes. Knowing what I know now I’d make a few adjustments to how I approach it all but we would go back 🙏

I pick up carry out from this Gem often! By far my favorite club sandwich I’ve had in all of Nashville! 10/10 would recommend (and have) to everyone.
Great sandwiches and pleasant staff. They have vegan and vegetarian options. Pretty much catering to all? There is limited seating inside but there are tables outdoors for seating and a patio. On a warm and sunny winter's day this could work. Parking on the other hand is a nightmare. There are so few spaces and since Mitchell's is popular you find yourself circling the block multiple times looking for an open parking space. Even their overflow lot had zero spaces. Be prepared to walk if you have to park far. But the food makes up for it!
A hip, cozy restaurant focused on fresh and healthy food.
I ordered the Turkey Avocado. It was beautiful, delicious, and fresh. The only thing I thought about changing was the bread. I saw someone with the sourdough and got a bit envious. My wheat bread was still really yummy - I just love bread.
I ate all of my food before I took a picture of it. Sorry about that.
Really good food and draft sodas! I got the turkey Brie sandwich and my finance got the turkey club … both were very fresh, well made and yummy! Staff was friendly and helpful. If we’re ever in the area again we’ll be stopping in!
One of my family’s favorites in East Nashville. Phenomenal from top-to-bottom. One time placed an online order and had to pick up sick kid from school and totally forgot. Manager honored the order and made it fresh next day without batting an eye. Good people at Mitchell’s, I tell ya
