The Melting Pot

Chose The Melting Pot to celebrate our wedding anniversary this year. My husband and I have been a handful of times at various locations, but it was the first for my BFF and her husband. They are both GF, and she doesn't eat meat, so that played a huge role in our decision of where we chose to go. (I'm honestly blown away how TMP can accommodate all kinds of dietary restrictions.) There was a slight hiccup in the beginning with getting the double cooktop table I requested, but the host staff was very quick to fix that and sat us within about 5 minutes of our arrival. Bartender was very friendly and engaging while we waited. Got to our table and our server, Lindsay P, was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! She was noticably busy tending to her other guests, but made sure to thoroughly explain the menu and options to us, and not treat us like just a number. She was friendly, knowledgeable (especially regarding the GF options), and made sure we had the best experience possible. She was funny and personable, and we LOVED her no-nonsense, to-the-point attitude. Haha My BFF and I are much the same way, and have extensive restaurant backgrounds, so we appreciated that! 😉 The support staff was just as great and I wish I could mention them all by name. Truly... The whole crew working this location on Saturday night (11/13/21) deserves recognition for a job well done! Food was tasty and fresh and arrived quickly. And, of course, the whole experience of fondue is always fun! Kudos, TMP Naperville ... We will be back! 😊

Our server was Claudia & she was absolutely amazing! Very knowledgeable about the menu which was very helpful for us first timers. She was very attentive & made sure we were fully supplied at all times. Will definitely sit in her section when we return. Now the bartender was A.J. & both of my drinks were on point! He definitely knows what he’s doing behind that bar! Highly recommend this place & we will absolutely be back!

We went on a Saturday night. First thing I noticed was the windows were either dirty or foggy…. Maybe a bit of both. We had the dinner for 2 ($98.) This was our first time so we really didn’t know what to expect. It was a four course meal. You choose a cheese fondue that comes with bread and veggie bites, then a salad, then your main course which was a few steak, salmon and chicken bites with about 6 shrimp and a dessert….we chose chocolate Carmel with candied pecans. They sat us next to the window so when the hot plate was off it could get very cold in our corner. The food came with no oil to keep it from sticking to the skillet. We literally sat there trying to scrape the meat from the skillet as everything just completely burned. It burned so badly that my hair and clothes smelled like I had been in a fire when we left. The dessert was served with bite sized pound cake, brownies, fruit and rice krispies…….. actually pretty good. Overall it was a great experience and the staff was awesome but it’s definitely not worth money.

My husband and I have come here many times for fun, anniversaries, and birthdays over the years. We decided to bring our kids with us this time for a fun Christmas break activity. I made reservations, since we were a larger party to accomodate, with a note that one of the 6 dining would need a high chair. We were sat in a small booth with not enough room for us, and it ruined the experience. We tried to make it work. But **I** ended up spilling drinks multiple times trying to eat and help kids. It was awful. And no one noticed because the service was all but absent except to drop the food. Add to that, there were actually bigger booths available that I saw on my way to the bathroom. One family with our same number of kids was happily eating at one of these large booths. And finally we ordered 5 entrees and ended up with 1 chocolate bowl that was not enough for everyone or frankly what we paid for. Ultimately, it was a large bill at the end, that I would have happily paid (like I said we had been multiple times and knew prices), but in the end, it was disappointing and not worth it. I'm not sure my husband and I will be returning based on that experience.
