This place was amazing. It was bit of a wait but well worth it. We browsed around in the gift shop while waiting. Lots of cool things in there. The waitstaff was friendly and informative. There were over 100 different food choices on the buffet. It was pricey but again well worth it! This place will not dissapoint you and make sure you have a big appetite because you will need it. The food was fresh and tasty. We tried many different things and it was all very good

Don't be fooled by pint sized imitations or bad reviews that must be for other restaurants with a similar name. The pirate at the door looked as authentic as pirate can(at least as I would think one should look). This place was packed in the parking lot but everyone was being seated almost immediately, the hosts were great, and our waiter was ever present to quietly help without being a bother. There was no shortage of food and it was all fresh and hot. The crab legs and prime rib were my personal favorites. And there was plenty of things a person who doesn't like seafood could eat too.

My husband & I always eat here when on vacation for our seafood night. So many choices of every kind of food. The crab legs are great and many kinds of shrimp. They have a pasta bar also.

The idea of a seafood buffet is new to me. I had never been to one but my husband made us go here. He grew up going here every year so I figured I would give it a chance. It was a ridiculously long wait and there is no where near enough parking. Once we finally got seated, the waiter was helpful and pleasant. He explained everything to me and sent us on our merry little way. There are definitely a LOT of options at the buffet. But to make it worth my while - I just ate my body weight in crab legs. The 'butter' they have to dip the meat in is so good. My husband loved eating here too. I recommend it as long as you realize it's $32/person. While I know it is a seafood buffet, our total including tip (for 2 people and 1 soda) was $85. Was it worth that much? I'm not sure personally but it's up to you to decide!

Good seafood, plenty of options! Great friendly Staff and I loved the crab legs! Would recommend for a buffet, which normally I do not enjoy since the food is made in bulk and the waste is probably astronomical, however this place was well kept and almost an event in itself! The offseason was a good time to try as I Heard the wait can stretch from an hour +

Great food, great service! We were met at the door by a very friendly "pirate" whom my son (3 yrs old) loved (probably because he gave him "treasure"). We waited aprroximately 5 minutes to be seated. The host was very friendly and the waitress was one of the best we've had. She even brought steaming hot crab legs from the buffet. It was an exceptional experience! I've seen a few bad reviews but I think they are probably from the type of people who can't be pleased. If you leave this restaurant unhappy, it's probably your fault. $31.95/adult, $11.99 / ages 5-12, $2.79 / under 5 (drinks not included in price)

Went to one that wasn't the "original". Was terrible compared to the real thing. If you want seafood this is the real deal. Expensive but worth it.

Here is an honest and accurate review.

The food is abundant and great. There are an absurd amount of choices ranging from crab legs, crab imperial, Cajun salmon, and many other fishes, as well as a "cooked to order" pasta bar, prime rib, and some GREAT desserts. It's not cheap at 31.95 per adult, but my wife and I felt we got more than our money's worth.

The only thing I would throw caution at if I was being honest, is the mass chaos that sometimes is present. The place seats 1000 people. I went to the buffet 9-10 times(getting plates for the kids), and sometimes I could go straight to the food, and sometimes there were lines that rivaled concert port-o-johns. If you don't mind saying "excuse me" a few times, this place is a must!!

We ate at both the top two buffets in myrtle beach and this one I must say beats Captain George's, hands down. Service was surprisingly excellent to be as busy as they were. With or without a coupon be prepared to spend roughly 30-33$ for adult buffet, 13$ for 6 and up , and $3 for kids under 4. Seems to be the going price for AYCE buffets here. Captain George's was a little bit more but tip and all it cost $100.00 for the four of us at both places. Go here, better items on buffet, crab legs are warm and the fried oysters are delicious.

Even though the prices here run a little on the steep side, the place was clean, the choices of food were huge, and the food was very good. Attentive staff rounded out my visit. A definite must for vacationers. PS - the pirate out front is an absolute
Hoot for kids and adults alike

This was an amazing dinner and experience with my wife. At first I thought it was pricey for a buffet. My opinion quickly changed once we got there. The decor and atmosphere captured our attention even before we walked in, then once I did enter I was blown away! It was almost like being in a museum and restaurant all at once! The line was a little long (rightfully so) but there was little wait. The hostess was kind and welcoming. Once we were seated our waiter was just the same and very informative. I would love to go on and on about the food but there were just so many good options to choose from! Me and my wife had 2 helpings of the crab legs specifically! Their selection was amazing and I didn't have a bad dish the whole night! I strongly recommend this place to everyone and will be coming back next trip to Myrtle Beach.

Wonderful seafood buffet! Great atmosphere! Exceptional castomer service! I only wish they have more option to choose from for people with dietary restrictions like myself( gluten/dairy free). I was able to eat just crab legs, green salad and fruits for desert.

I was thoroughly impressed with the choices and the quality of the food! Wow! Everything was seasoned and cooked excellently. The service was great (we were in a large group and 2 servers handled all 50 of us without any issue!), the building is beautiful, and food was fantastic! If I could give 10 stars I would! We will definitely be back!!!!

What can I say? Well, nothing bad that's for sure. My husband, son, and granddaughter had so much to eat, I thought they would explode. Did was fresh, hot, tasty, and plenty of it. This was not just seafood. There is a bit of everything included in the fair price. And, desserts galore. It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing to enjoy. You must visit. Eat, relax, shop, and enjoy the artifacts collection. Oh, go hang out on deck, you will rock out on their rocking swinging chairs. While you're there, take plenty of pictures and play a game or two of Corn-Hole. We did. What a beautiful place. The nautical decor is so soothing. The shop has handmade items from local artisans. So cool! We plan on coming back again, just don't know when. Wish it was next week. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, and the food. Make sure you go to the Original Captain Benjamin's Seafood Calabash!!

Went to Original Captain Benjamin’s for the first time in 7 years (!!)… We arrived a little after 8 p.m. (on Tuesday). We were able to walk right in and were seated right away (though I was lagging behind a bit, which held us up a few moments — they seat entire parties only). The lady who walked us to our table explained where to find items along the way. We sat at a table in the lower level. Our waiter was great! He gave us (party of 7) two baskets of hush puppies and sweet (honey maybe?) butter. He took our drink orders and off we went to the buffet area. The food is exactly what you would expect from a beach buffet. I first headed towards the crab legs, but I got sidetracked and got New England Clam Chowder as my first dish (I enjoyed it!). When I got to the crab legs, (we were there at a great time because there was no line!) I was given about 4-5 clusters to begin with! *they we’re switching out the legs, so a server handed them to me… for the rest of the night crab legs were self-serve* The crab legs were good… not too small or skimpy, and there was a canister of butter -just plain unsalted butter. We mostly went for the crab legs, but, of course, we all tried several items. Many of them were underwhelming, but again… exactly what you would expect. The items I enjoyed the best (besides the crab legs) came from the fried bar. At the end of the night we all enjoyed a few of the desserts. PRICES - I called ahead and listened to the phone recording for the prices before we went. In the years since I’ve been, it has gone up substantially… (not surprisingly) ADULTS - $49.99 CHILDREN (6-12) - $21.99 CHILDREN (5 & Under) - $5.99

Awesome Seafood Buffet Restaurant with great variety of delicious tasting food served by very friendly and gracious staff and servers in jaw dropping ambience with plenty of maritime and ocean artifacts and Gift Shop. You will be greeted by a Door man, then smiling front desk staff who will lead you to your table at the same time giving you a walking tour of the place. They also have a huge parking lot along 17 in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

There is no shortage of seafood buffets in Myrtle Beach. After checking reviews and costs we decided on this one. We found it to be a decent seafood buffet. We were greeted by a nice young man and taken to the hostess stand. The hostess was also so very friendly and we were sat immediately. The food was pretty good with a lot of variety. The hush puppies were delicious. The crab legs were average size. They had someone serving them and everyone was given 3 clusters at a time. I would recommend this seafood buffet.
