Looking for something besides the dime a dozen seafood buffets. Found this place on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a shot. As we were walking in a gentleman was leaving with takeout.....oh my did it smell good! While the place it a little dated it was clean and we were greatd as soon as we walked in. Place our order and munched on the free pork rinds (delicious) while we waited for our food. We each ordered the two meat platter with two sides. EVERYTHING was wonderful! The brisket was perfection! The BBQ beans were my favorite side. While we are only here once a year, this will be a place we will visit again. We will also share with family members who vacation here as well.

Finally found our BBQ place! Baby Boy has had me craving bbq for months and I’ve dragged my poor fiancé to a million different places that never quite hit the spot. Went for lunch yesterday and got the pulled chicken platter AND a pulled pork sandwich (no shame!). Everything was delicious, including what I sampled of his . The pulled pork was exactly what I’ve been looking for, and the chicken was great on top of it. Owner spoke to us and was very friendly. Looking forward to trying more of the menu! We will be back!

Just passing through on a job, but saw a sign for this place. Not too many Maryland flags down here. Ordered a bbq mac & cheese bowl, & boardwalk fries. All delicious! Service was quick and friendly too! You'd have to be bold to try their 4× burger challenge, but if you're hungry enough it would be a fun dinner. I'll leave that to hungrier folk than me. Anyway, there's no reason for this place to ever be empty. Come on by and grab a bite for something a little more special than your usual chains. Edit: the fried Oreos that I took home were delicious too!

Don't skip this place! When we walked in it had that lingering smell of a extinguished bbq grill - that after-burn wood chip smell hovering in the air. It may be small but packs some great flavors. We ordered ribs, pulled pork, mac n cheese, and a smoked brisket sandwich. Their bbq sauce is made by the owner and the flavor was a smoky sweetness that sat on my pallet between each bite. I ended up asking for a bottle to take home. The ribs fall off the bone. The brisket falls apart on your mouth with every bite. They know how to smoke meats. To top it off the waitress was super friendly and attentive. The place was empty when we first arrived and had a few customers by the time we left. It never felt like we were ignored OR watched while we ate. Don't skip here. It was a perfect lunch stop.

We had the whole place to ourselves and the service was top notch. The bbq was amazing. They have 3 bbq sauces to choose from. Tomato base, vinegar base, or mustard base. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Decent bbq place. Brisket was good but the big surprise, especially if you like spicy, is they have real hot sauce with heat. This is no ordinary heat, instead of being made from a pepper base it is made from an extract pepper base meaning intense heat. There is a wing challenge that is not on the menu that I am sure most folks could not survive. Definitely a scorcher. I will warn you that if you are looking for a place to cool down after being on the beach that right now is not it. If the AC was working it was barely working. I couldnt imagine being in the kitchen.

I have lived in Murrells Inlet since 2003, and I have seen this building go through many different things. Today, the wife and I decided to try out the latest incarnation of this place... Pop Pop's Pit BBQ... And I was not disappointed. The meat was outstanding. I had the Viking Platter as did my wife. 1/2 lbs of each... Pulled Pork... Brisket, and Pulled Chicken, along with 3 ribs and 2 sides. The meat had some sauce on it, but was not overly sauced, which we both found pleasing. For sides, we both had green beans and cole slaw. The green beans were perfectly seasoned... Reminding me of when I was a boy. The cole slaw, was slightly sweet and slightly vinegary which I really enjoyed. The two ladies who served us, were very courteous, and quite attentive to our needs. An overwhelmingly positive dining experience. I will be back.

We ate at Pop Pops 3 years ago at a different location and it was delicious. Was a little nervous to try this one because of the latest reviews, but decided to anyway. So glad we did! Still the best BBQ around! The fries were homemade and so was the Mac and cheese. We will definitely be back!

Excellent BBQ. If you are in the murrells inlet area the. It would be a crime against humanity if you didn’t eat there.

The best beef brisket around. Prices are very reasonable, friendly staff and bartender. A great variety of things to eat. Even the pickiest eater will find something there they like. Happy hour 3-6. Go see Kim and enjoy the food and the company.
