While I was up in North Central Arkansas working this past month, I made a lot of stops here and there. Most of them were spur of the moment deals or specific places to visit while on assignment. The one place I had to go, though, was The Back Forty. Facebook fans have been bugging me for months to get me up there to try the burger. So yes, I did go and have myself a Barnbuster. Only natural, right?
Marvelously charred burgers and steaks cooked over a griddle-covered fire inside Mountain Home's famed wood-paneled almost windowless restaurant are some of the best morsels of beef you'll ever put in your mouth.
I'm a local lived here my whole life. This is by far the best burger in town. If you don't like it something's wrong with you go back up north!!
Not bad at all. Went there for the first time tonite, had a few Blue Moons on tap n a Barn Burner, my wife had a drink and the same burger. We both had sides and we spent around 30$. The burger was medium, to order, and it was fantastic. The buns coulda been toasted but that's my only complaint. You gotta love a joint you can get a burger as bloody as you want it!
This was a pleasant surprise! Just traveling through town and decided to stop in. WOW! Soooo clean. Best hamburger my husband had eaten out in forever. And they know how to fry French fries. I know that sounds simple but it's really hard to find a place in rural Arkansas that takes simple things and elevates them to a higher level. And the staff was beyond friendly. I hope we will get to come back through and stop again. Wish we had a place just like this back home. Btw...fried stuffed shrimp are Devine too!
Barnbuster rocks!. Great burgers, friendly, service wonderful neighborhood bar atmosphere.
Cheap Eats. Back Forty is a good place for cheap bar styled food. I had a chili cheese dog with onions for under $6. Not the healthiest but recommended for those who like to get the itis after meals.
Kick ass burgers and pub grub !!!! The best in Mt. home !!!!!!
Great burgers. Have been going to Back Forty for years - either when we would come to the lake or after we moved to Mountain Home. Wonderful burgers, great cold beer and just a no frills, relaxing place to go. This place is a legend in the Twin Lakes area!
Great Burger. The Barnbuster may be the best burger in the state.
Fine burgers, cold beer, free pop corn and friendly servers who know their menus. I got a rare hamburger steak. Getting restaurants to cook food to order, especially thin cuts of meat is a Rare-ity.
Most of the patrons are regulars. They enjoy talking across the tables. Aways a favorite of pub food.
The burger is out of this world every time I visit.
The Back Forty is truly a staple of Mountain Home. They have been around for 35+ years and are STILL cranking out great food. Their 1/2lb burgers (Barnbuster) are great, and their 1' chili cheese dogs are awesome. If you're not from Mountain Home area, you must stop in and give it a try.
FYI They recently switched to cash and local check only. They have an ATM inside if you need it.
Great real food! Juicy burger, big fat fries, real chicken tenders, and big onion rings. Even delicious when we got to go curbside!
Excellent food and service! I've been going here since the 80's. Everything is consistently delicious and enjoyable. Restaurants come and go in Mountain Home, Arkansas. There's a reason this one is still going strong. The Barn Buster, 40 Woody platter, and mini tacos are my favorites.
As always, they have great food. Glad they got more of the beer battered onion rings in. Those and the sweet potato fries in combination with the barn buster and miss piggy are favorites for my daughter and myself.
Pops took me here - he loves it. Thats one helluva hot dog. Burger was very good too!
Very friendly staff - thank you!
We had a celebration of life for Dave gentry . Thank you all for being so good to us. The food was good as always . Scuba Dave will be missed very much .
