Glut

I love this place! It's been my main grocery store for 11 years. I've never seen a place pack more variety into a smaller space. No need to walk down long aisles past products I don't want to buy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable. The bulk selection is unmatched even by stores 10 times the size. Groovy tunes are always playing. It has all the charm that Yes and Whole Food lack. If you haven't been, give yourself a treat. If you have been but not recently, give it another try. Gotta support our local independent stores or they'll go away!

Good community and good healthy foods. I've been coming here for maybe 25+ years and there's nothing like it. Everything you need in one place...well almost. The spices and teas and nuts and fruit are the best I've ever had. They come from locally sourced companies so they're fresher. All the products in the store are actually local companies. But most importantly you feel like you're shopping with friends.

Awww man, I can't say enough good things about this place. From the time you walk in and groove to the Dope music that they're playing...you'll enjoy yourself while you shop for dried fruits and specialty nuts at reasonable prices. Fresh organic produce, CHECK. Very eclectic vegan and vegetarian snack food items, CHECK. I love the people who work here they're so friendly cool and upbeat. It gives me the vibe of DC the OLD DC....you must, you must support local owned businesses. Cheers!!

The best co-op in the area. Small enough that the staff will remember you but large enough to stock all the food options expected in a health food store. I come here to buy specialty items I can’t otherwise find OR to buy items cheaper. I personally love their Irish Sea Moss supply, variety of Bob’s Red Mill products (especially the teff flour), and the prepared vegan foods in the refrigerator section. My husband finds all types of herbal and beauty supplements here as well. Located in a quaint part of Mt. Rainier.

If you haven’t been to Glut, you haven’t been to Mount Rainier, it’s the beating heart of this little town just along the District border. Great music, it’s a worker owned co-op so no membership required. Though it’s health food store in an expensive part of the country they price many items low, I get pasta, cheese and ice cream cheaper there often than I do at larger chain health food stores. They have folks to help you figure out herbs and supplements that might help what ails you. Fresh organic produce, herbs and bulk grains, nuts and granola, toiletries and natural black skin and hair products. Check it out for the novelty, keep coming back for joy,convenience and community.
