This was my 1st to visit Azteca in about 2 or 3 years. I can’t say that this is the best Mexican food that I have eaten. It’s OK as long as you aren’t expecting to be overwhelmed. The tortilla chips are not very tasty and the salsa is a bit bland. The Superior Burrito that I ordered was not very tasty and the sour cream was very runny. It deceptively looked larger than it was because of the way the lettuce, tomato, and sour cream were piled up. Take all of that away and the actual burrito is smaller than you would think. On the other hand my friends enjoyed their platters. Maybe I’m somewhat picky and I certainly set the bar high, but I really have had much better Mexican food elsewhere. Read my reviews for On the Border or Luna Y Sol. Both of those restaurants are also local.

I've been reading a lot of these other reviews, and have to say, it's like a tale of 2 restaurants. The decor is dated, and the service not the best, but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, as did my girlfriend. She recommended the place and I'm certainly glad she did. The food was very tasty, not greasy, and very large portions. She brought some of hers home. If you like spicy, ask for the HOT sauce! We were told it was home made. I don't know if it was, but I know hot sauce. Excellent! The food was served politely and hot, for $36.....we'll definitely be back!

Was disappointed when I found out that ground beef , and flower tortillas is what’s used for there tacos and almost everything else. Definitely Not Authentic Mexican food. Besides the Americanized menu the food was half decent. Guacamole was fresh, but the salsa was bland and tasted as if it came out of a can. Lastly the place can use a good cleansing.

I went today, Sunday with my husband. The waiter was very rude. The food was tasteless and the meat was very salty and was not ribeye like they said. Overall, a terrible experience and a waste of our time and money. I love and enjoy Mexican food. This was not Mexican. This was a tasteless meal. Go to see for yourself.

Whoever took over this place, which I heard was the chef, clearly has no clue what he’s doing. Really sad, because this used to be our hands down favorite place to go, but no more. We went for sit down meal, and found out the chef was also serving tables, had no staff, and took us 20+ Minutes to even be seen for drinks. I understand with staffing issues these days, but he was also very rude. Asked for another basket of chips and salsa, and he very rudely said “first is free, next one you are paying full price, understand.” The way he said it was extremely rude. Never came back to refill our drinks. Ok, maybe it was a bad day. Tried ordering take out twice after that and the phone goes straight to user busy. He clearly is well in over his head, so we give up on this place.

The service is fantastic. These young folks are working their tails off to make sure your experience is excellent. Two people, were working the tables, seating and serving. They did a phenomenal job, never missed a beat and were always smiling. Their enthusiasm about the menu was a bonus. The portion sizes are excellent. They are not holding back on their fantastic food. The food was awesome. Everything was well seasoned. The meats tender, the crispy things crispy. I am particularly fond of the "street" taco. It came with 4, yes 4, corn tortillas, stuffed with meat, cilantro and onions. Because is nothing without flaws: I'd suggest a thicker table salsa with a touch more cilantro. We got a quesadilla with ground beef. Really odd. We are assuming it was a miscommunication with the order. We plan to go back. A bunch.

I had a party of 5, we were never seated or offered an6 seating so we seated ourselves. The waiter was rude and rushed us to hurry up and order. After ordering he ignored us when we needed more drinks, we asked for more chips and bever got them. He very aggressively handed everyone the wrong food. Let alone everyone's food was absolutely coated in grease to the point that's all anyone could taste. Never asked if we were paying together or separate and just yelled our total at us. Definitely will not be back for a second visit. Terrible first impression.

My wife wanted to go here because she had been previously and said the food was very good. We walked in through a side door with what was once decal letters on the glass peeling off, two front double doors were locked, we were not greeted so just walked in and sat in a booth, we immediately noticed the place looked dirty. After a few minutes a waitress came over and told us we should have waited at the door to be seated, she moved us to a different booth. We only saw the one waitress working, the table next to us had dirty dishes left from the previous customers, the dishes were there for about 15 minutes before someone came to remove them. We were served chips and salsa, this was the best part of the meal. We ordered queso which was served warm and creamy, it wasn’t like anything I had ever tasted, after a few chips it just tasted bad. For dinner we ordered chimichangas. My wife asked for ground beef instead of steak tips, the waitress told us there was no ground beef, I don’t know if there was none in the building but there were other items on the menu that clearly said made with ground beef. The food was warm but once again after a few bites had a bad taste. I’ve had better many times. When we asked for our check to pay we were told the check is at the register. When it came time to pay we were told it was $5.00 more if not paying cash, we asked why, it seemed like the man taking payment didn’t understand the question, his reply was any tips had to be paid in cash to the waitress from the register, I asked if this meant the tip was included he said it was not, we paid and did tip the waitress on the card. We will not be returning. I would not recommend this place and should warn anyone to avoid it.
