I just realized that I have not written a review for my favorite Korean hotpot restaurant, so here it is. If you want to try something authentic and different, you have to try this place out. I found this place a few years ago by chance because I have been looking for good Korean close to work. I only come here during the cold months because this places is known for its hotpots, too hot for the summer months. Hotpots or casserole are the main theme here, there is a no BBQ, no chicken wings, no sushi, just awesome mouth watering hotpots and these folks know how to make them, aside from fresh ingredients, the broth base is very important. I personally don't like over spiced food but the broth here has just the right amount of spice in it but not overwhelming that you can't taste anything else. The flavor combination is just unbelievable, especially the spicy chicken or spicy pork neck bone hotpots. If you want to take a break from the spice you can always order the bulgogi hotpot which is more on the sweet side. There are other hotpot variations with tofu and such. Do try the traditional blood sausage, you can't just get them everywhere. Together with prompt and friendly services, you can't resist coming here at least once a week. The food just warms you from the inside. This is one of the few places that I will always end up over eating 🀣.

The kimchi was homemade, with good tang but still fresh and appropriate spiciness. The soondae was tasty and the soondaeguk broth was nourishing. My Korean family members felt this is one of the few restaurants they wanted to visit while we were in Chicago for the weekend, so that says a lot.

Truly one of the best Korean SoonDaeGuk restaurant. If that wasn't enough, the side dishes are so delicious! Once I mixed my rice and shrimp seasoning into the soup, I could not stop shoveling the glorious mixture into my mouth!! I didn't even switch to chopstick to eat the side dishes. Just used my spoon so that I could quickly get another scoop of my amazing SoonDaeGuk! I'm sorry I didn't take a "before" picture but I'm sure you all will see the same picture I took.

This Korean restaurant screams of authenticity. They serve traditional Korean dishes that is very hard to find in the States. The food amount is just perfect, delicious and brings more side dishes if you ask. I've been here several times and every time it's been a great experience weather it's a take out or a dine in.

This is a small family run Korean restaurant. It's not fancy by any means, but I have always enjoyed the food. Each Korean restaurant is a little different than the next and that makes it interesting. I had the Yuk Jai Gay many times as well as the pork bone soup and I say again the food is really good. This is a place to have a nice quite lunch. Park around the back and enter through the back door. It is most authentic and most of their customers are Korean. Please give this review a thumbs up πŸ‘ 6032 Dempster Morton Grove Il.

Very good Korean homestyle food. Tastes like an authentic hole in the wale restaurant you would eat at in Seoul. Very hard to find this real traditional style of Korean hotpot in the US.
