We had to flag down a server to get waited on during an off hour late lunch.
Server was courteous and efficient though.
I ordered Philly Cheese Steak and Onion rings. The sandwich was OK, but the steak wasn't season very well.
The OR were overcooked and quite dry.
Wife ordered fish & chips. She said the fish was good! Side order of string fries was quite good as I had to sample them.

Great service, good atmosphere, lots of menu choices. BEST fish and chips and BEST TARTER SAUCE I've had in a very long time. Felt like I was eating in Charleston, SC!!

Our steak was not cooked right. Our ribs were tasteless and tough. The fries are so small. They must think we adults are fine eating child size food. The only taste was the A1 and the extra barbeque sauce. Our waiter never came to check on us or even offer more drinks. Will not be back. For the price we should get good food and better. We got French dressing instead of ranch dressing and our server was no where to be found.

First of all let me say we went on a Friday July 1st in the afternoon and including I and my wife there were only 3 or 4 booths of customers so they weren’t busy so the kitchen shouldn’t have felt rushed. Not sure what’s happened but food quality just isn’t what it use to be. First they use to have some of the best raspberry tea but the past few times I’ve been there it seems less flavorful, more watered down . Use to use real raspberry puree. Not sure if they still do. You can even tell by looking at the glass. We always order the spinach bread bowl. It also hasn’t been as good. Seems like they are giving you less cheese and chips. Plus use to the bread bowl came out warm and toasty with that nice crunchiness that comes with toasted bread but now it comes out with not having any signs of being in the oven. Also ordered a Turkey wrap and homemade chips from lunch menu and while the wrap was good I removed the tomato because it was so pale looking. It was more white than red like a tomato should be which is a good indicator of flavor. You would think that tomatoes in season would be what they use. Also the homemade chips did not taste very good. They did not seem fresh at all. May not be Holston’s fault as food shortages may be effecting they’re original source of food causing them to go with lower quality food.

First and last time here. The appetizers came out quick and were okay, but we ran out of drinks while waiting 50 minutes for our meals and we did not get refills until our food arrived. The server
brought our food and left and never came back until she brought the tickets. I ordered a medium steak and the one I got was cold and very rare. I was unable to request my steak to be corrected since she didn’t come back until I was out of a drink, irritated and ready to leave.

Holston’s is the type of restaurant that every town in the country should have. Can wrap it all up with one word: Excellent

Had the Hawaiian steak, was delicious and cooked to perfection. Wife had the grilled salmon and again perfectly cooked. Our waitress was great. I'd highly recommend dining here

Our steak had to be sent back and when it came back the second time it was still more rare than medium rare. My husbands burger was medium rare when it was supposed to be medium. The baked potatoes where very lacking they where either cooked in the microwave or left sitting in a warmer.
The manager is great but the food is not
