La Mex Restaurant

Horrible. Salsa was serve with chips and when I got to bottom of dish there was a sweet and low packet in it , then a pc of cardboard. When we brought it to their attention they didn’t seem to think anything of it. Then I ordered quacamoli tostadas and got tostadas with beans and a dallop of quac! Just a terrible experience. Then to top it off no compensation for the bad salsa, in addition was gonna pay with a gift card and they charge you for that. Who does that. Will never return and will continue to put bad reviews until they acknowledge. Horrible, horrible customer service!

The inside of the restaurant is actually very cute, good decor, dim lights. If you don't like dark rooms then it's not for you. I came here because the restaurant has a 4.5 star review but left very disappointed in the quality of the food. I placed an order for 2 people. I should've known that when a meal for 2 is prepared and ready to go in less than 5 minutes is never a good sign. Food presentation was done correctly but the green enchiladas taste like something you buy Frozen from Aldi. The steak taco meat taste boiled. Food was cold. The salsa tasted very old and almost as if it was can bought. The person taking the orders doesn't really listen to the customer and rushed through the whole thing. Food is also very over priced. I paid more than $30 for an enchilada dinner and 3 steak tacos.

Wait staff seemed to be short handed and spread thin. They were very much doing the best they could but it did affect dinner service. Drinks took quite a while to arrive to the table, a long wait to order, when food arrived one of our party did not receive her meal and no one had silverware for a good 10 mins. Then we were told her order was never put in. They apologized and put a ticket in right away for her order but it was very evidently rushed when the food arrived. Sloppy slimy and cold tamales. Guacamole, chips and salsa were good. Margaritas were good. Everything else was meh. Would give them another shot on a week night to see if things are better with a slower night.

Started with an endless supply of corn chips and salsa. Refried beans were available for the asking. Generous portions of good tasty food with one order being gluten free. Good service and friendly staff. Older building and the outside could use a coat of paint but does not detract from the fine meal. Fair and competitive prices. Not an upscale restaurant but clean.

Wanted to explore dowtown Morris, and decided on LaMex. This is a step above your average Mexican restaurant. Pros-Chicken taco was excellent, all white meat shredded into large pieces. Excellent flavor. I also ordered steak taco and beef taco to explore the menu and all 3 meats were suburb! Will order again. Monday has Taco plate on special $11.95 (3 tacos with rice & beans). Excellent deal in town, for quality. Chips & red sauce fresh & delicious. Guacamole is best in town! Cons-house margarita $10 small, medium is $20 for house tequila. (Tues & Thursday offers half priced pitchers). Refried beans lacked flavor, will skip next time. Fried icecream was average $5.95. Overall 5* little pricey, but worth it for top quality items. Service was friendly & fast. Will return.
