For me Moorhead Dairy Queen is a place where you can go and it is always good. Be it, food, ice cream, people watching or fellowship with friends you meet there or the conversations you have with the other customers waiting with you in the line. Everyone is in a good mood. Moorhead Dairy Queen brings that good mood out in everyone.
I drove 4 hours from Minneapolis to visit this location for some DQspiration. I am a fan of old school DQ treats and this location doesn't disappoint. They have things I've never seen at other Dairy Queen locations! I ordered the chipper sandwich, old fashioned red raspberry soda, and a chocolate rock and tried my first Mr. Maltie. Bought some souvenirs. I wanted to chat with the owners but they had left for the day.
It's worth the drive! Nice service and interesting menu. Check it out and you won't be disappointed!
Dairy Queen (Treat) at 24 S 8th St, Moorhead MN is worth the drive and a special stop! The 1949 DQ contract, offers freedom re-create a large variety of official, and many long ago favorite treats. The Dilly Bar was invented here. Troy and Diane DeLeon are enjoying the 26th year and serve a “sweet” experience to one and all!
We're spoiled to have the original DQ near our home! It's a special and unique experience w/ a yesteryear flare. Lots of options not available at other DQs, but no burgers (I'm totally okay w/ that). Quick service, spacious outdoor seating area, and adequate parking. A tremendous spot to take your kids or grandkids! And it you get Riley as your server, you'll get 6-star service w/ a smile 😁
Loved this place! You can never go wrong with DQ, but an original location is even better. Fast service even with the long line. Definitely will return if I'm ever back in town.
Wonderful food, service, and this is the Dairy Queen that invented the Dilly Bar.
Sure, you can get Dairy Queen just about anywhere, but the Morehead DQ is special. Birthplace of the Dilly Bar, they still hand dip and serve them fresh at this retro location. But only the chocolate, cherry, and butterscotch flavors. The Heath and mint flavors are the prepackaged varieties not made on site. This DQ also serves up several other unique treats you won't find at other DQs. Great place to stop for a summer treat!
This is the home of the Dilly Bar and doesn't disappoint. The 10 foot Dilly Bar statue with "Moorhead Minnesota" behind is a must have photo op! The line was very long, but service was streamlined and the small staff served the 9 of us quickly, accurately, and all with a smile. Definitely recommend even if there's a long line
Its always fun to take the family here. Its a throw back to a simplier time. One of the original DQ's. Walk up to the wi dow and order. Picnic tables to sit on, so that you can eat before it melts.
Best Dairy Queen in the area, even if it closes for part of the year. Lowest prices and most flavors along with having a non-standard menu make it hard to beat.
