Big Daddy’s is our favorite go to for oysters! We love to sit at the oyster bar and have someone shuck them for us! Monica is a wonderful waitress. If you go, ask for her you won’t be disappointed as far as service goes! Awesome place!
What a Great place!! Awesome food friendly staff! We met the owner Freddie Lancaster. He and his family exemplifies southern hospitality!! It’s our new favorite place on Lake Norman.
So this place is very reminiscent of all the fish camps that used to be scattered all over the area. It is a little pricier and a little nicer interior but it is definitely from the 1970's. I had the salad bar, clam chowder and combo of popcorn (calabash) shrimp/oysters/clam strips. The salad bar was just so-so. The clam chowder was not great. Especially when compared to what you can get up in the northeast. The fried oysters were pretty good. The clam strips were as good any I've ever had. The popcorn shrimp were as good as any I've had outside of Calabash. Others in the group had scallops that were quite good. Also tried the lobster bisque which was better than clam chowder but not anything to write home about. Will definitely be back for clams and shrimp.
Really really good. Ate here 2 years ago and the fried shrimp was as good as in FL. Traveling here again and had to eat here. Hush puppies were great, clam chowder was superb, prime rib and shrimp were awesome. I are at the bar and Phil the bartender was on top of everything. Great service. Awesome all the way around
By far, the best seafood inland! Better shrimp than a lot I've had at the coast. Flounder and oysters also outstanding.
Good food. Atmosphere? not really. but good salas bar, steaks, and seafood. try the prime rib
Big Daddy's is great! Fresh seafood, steak was perfectly cooked and the staff was like family.
A Good Ole Boy Classic in a Fun Way. Big Daddy's is a fun place to go and the food "ain't" bad either. Pull into the parking lot and right on top of the building are four NASCAR vehicles. Not bad for Race City USA.
Inside the restaurant is a cross between an old Southern Fish Camp and a chalet with an open fireplace in the middle of the dinning area. One one side of the hugh dinning room is a very large oyster bar and a well stocked salad bar in the middle of the room.
If you like seafood, you'll love Big Daddy's. Our friends from Ohio make it a point to go there everytime they come down just for the fried Lobster Tails. The seafood platters and excellent but come hungry because even the small platters are enough for two. If you like oysters, fried, steamed or raw, this is the place.
The only negative thing I can say about Big Daddy's is the salad bar can be hit or miss. They don't keep up with the bar as well as they should so if you're lucky, they just restocked it. If not, then it tends to be a little picked over.
In general, if you like seafood, you'll love Big Daddy's and you'll have some fun at the same time.
Food was good. Not as good as the hype. Server was fantastic. Very busy. Long wait on food. Maybe We missed what they are best at. We did all have left overs to take home.
Great atmosphere, good vibes, service was very good too. Lots of seafood and steak choices. You can tell everything is fresh. Lobster tail was slightly over cooked unfortunately and I was surprised they don't grill oysters. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves.
What an amazing night for my birthday here at Big Daddy’s. This was a night I will never forget. Making memories here and great food with amazing service. Thanks for the night!!
What a great waitress we had. Made our visit here more enjoyable. We split the big seafood platter and still had leftovers. You should try it at least once.
Was overpriced for a fried fish camp. Maybe some of the other items are worth it but the fried #2 platter was definitely not. The quality was good. service was good.
