The Food Would Get 100 stars if that was an option. I Had The BBQ Pulled Pork Torta yesterday and it was the best Ive had. The Place Is Kind Of Small but there was more then enough seating at the time I showed up. I will be telling others about this place.
Legit Tortas , and playing that Carlos vives. Been going to this place for a while now a must if your in the area.

Sanwiches with an Accent. Maybe I should just call them tortas; Mexican sandwiches. I just simply loved the torta I got from Cook's.
My Mole Verde torta came with chicken, onions, lettuce, pepita-tomatillo mole, and of course some jalapeno. It's one of a kind sandwich (ok torta). I got meat and bread like other ordinary sandwiches, but all other ingredidents gave very different flavors; spicy and also tasteful. One side dish came with each torta.
Cook's Tortas is a small eatery. It's so packed on this Saturday afternoon, but I don't think it's any problem to find a seat. They also serve vegetable tortas, I'd certainly bring my vegetarian friend here.
Great tortas! I've tried the chicken with mole verde, carne asada, chorizo, Cuban. All are delicious. Love the sweet potatoe fries too. They are always changing the menu. Can't wait to stop by and see what's new.
Great variety of sandwiches for a $7-10 price range. For a big sandwich you get ~ 3ounce scoop of side salad of your choice. I went with a group of 7 and all very happy w their picks - Mojito, Carne asada, Cajun fish, Cubano , all had great reviews. Oddly, they close at 8pm on weekdays.
Good Eats. One of the best sandwich spots in LA, and perhaps one of very few places you can enjoy a bacalao sandwich. I heart this place.
Woderful selection of Tortas with an eclectic mix fillings . Enjoyed the ranchero with carne asada, chorizo, goat cheese, guacamole and nopales all on house made ciabbata roll. Great food but noisy space with high decibel eating area.
With plenty of variety, there's most likely a torta for just about anyones taste or mood. House baked bread( you can buy the delicious bread for a dollar a piece, go home and make your own dang torta). I recommend the Aguas frescas and the corncake for dessert( great great grandmothers recipe). Yum.

Navigating the line is no problem, and you’ll have plenty of time to consider your options as Cook’s Tortas has a massive blackboard menu to your left. Step up to the counter, place your order. Choose what side you’re going to have, and have alongside what you’re going to have as Cook’s has prepared a number of fresh made salads and sides. Pick a drink (again, they have house made Aqua Frescas). Once you’re done, you get a number and find your seat.
I would say that walking in, your heart may drop as there are just no places to sit in this place, but worry not. The turnover is rather high. By the time you’ve got your number there should be at least one or two tables available for you.
As you sit, relax, maybe write up a Food Blog entry or two, you’ll notice that one of Cook’s Waitstaff will pop up periodically, and frequently, from the kitchen, shouting a number. So keep your ears open.
But after that, you’ll be able to sit back and enjoy one of (if not the) best Torta in town. It’s one kitchen, doing what it does, and doing it very well. You can’t go wrong.

Cooks is amazing! They bake their own breads and pastries, ingredients are super fresh. I love the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant. Staff was super friendly. Big selection and lots to choose from. Everything was very flavorful , prepared well and was picturesque. It gets busy durring lunch rush but then line moves quickly. Lots of restaurant seating and a small patio as well.
A rare 5 star experience! I'm Changing my focus off of price and value during covid so I'll just say expect to pay around $15 for a sandwich. But oh what a sandwich it is. I had the pulled pork torta and I'm usually a little leary of some of the fusion dishes out there but this was an awesome sandwich. I had the pineapple, orange, coconut side dish which was excellent as well. I could have easily v mowed 5 of them... Eat here soon.
Torta location was recommended by my husband's coworker so I checked on Yelp and they also had good reviews. The torta/sandwiches are delicious. I ordered the grilled veggie #00 and my husband order the Asada #5. The tortas were heavy which is always a good sign and packed with fresh ingredients. We also ordered an agua fresca (Chia Lemonade). We will be returning...

Not your average torta, just look at their extensive menu on the wall. Customer service is great. They bake their own bread and Aguas frescas. If you are going during lunch hour call ahead because it gets very busy. I'll leave you with some of their sweet delights.
Good food. Something different for the area. I always get their Mexican Salad, Bombero, and shrimp poboy. I would like them to better designate what to do after you pay. About 6 people were inside for about 5 minutes before they realised we had to go outside to wait for our food.
