Le Salbuen

This restaurant was an amazing experience. It’s a cute cozy place with a rustic design but a beautiful interior design. The kitchen is open space and the center of the room. The first thing you notice is the smell o and it’s pleasing. I had no idea it was BYOB but the owner was so nice to give us some wine for my birthday celebration. The appetizer were a good size and packed with flavor. I recommend the chorizo. It was a favorite at the table. Their entrees are great. The consistency of the food from appetizers to desserts were so good, simple, and delicious. I will definitely come back. I highly recommend it.

Le Salbuen Cafe is a sweet little find NOT in the busy part of Montclair (aka Bloomfield Ave). It’s still only street parking but there aren’t many restaurants and shops around. The place is tiny- less than ten tables. They do take reservations but the service is very disorganized. They often forget about requests or even forget to serve items. The food selection is vast- a vegan/vegetarian menu and a carnivore menu. The prices are also quite reasonable. You’ll have a full stomach after coming to Le Salbuen but you’ll also be disappointed by their service.

Loved going to this place! Great ambience and vibe. It’s a good place to get good pictures and overall just so beautiful. However, they got my order wrong lol. I thought I made a mistake but, the waiter didn’t record anything on paper and even forgot one of my friends orders and came back. And something I rlly didn’t like was the sparkling water thing. When you arrive, the just leave it on the table and there’s cups there too, so you naturally just drink it like it’s something the place offers.... like water... but no... at the end they charge you $6 for it. So if u don’t wanna pay an extra $6, don’t touch the sparkling water!

Good service & good food can't be beat. My first meal at Salbuen was absolutely delicious and impressive. We ordered the Portuguese french toast, the almond butter toast, and vegan tacos which were all excellent and highly recommended. We also got the hash but it was only ok and I wouldn't order it again. The hot chocolate is also a must have. It's flavored with fresh chocolate and cinnamon and paired perfectly with my French toast.

This was my worst dining experience in Montclair. I came here with high hopes as I’ve heard wonderful things. Our reservation was for 715pm, we sat down and immediately asked for wine glasses and water, 15 minutes later we asked another waiter as ours never returned with Either. Finally he came and apologized for “forgetting us” and took our order and at that time we asked for ice. He can by 20 minutes later And we asked for our ice and the status of our appetizers and said sorry “out of sight out of mind.” At this point we have been there for 45 minutes and no food. 10 minutes later I asked the manager what the problem was given I ordered a salad for an appetizer. He said there was a kitchen issue and he apologized. I said we completely understand but it would’ve been nice to have been told that and along with being checked on once every 20 minutes. Keep in mind there are like 10 tables so not sure why checking on us is so overwhelming. At that point we left and went to an actual restaurant. Sad to say we’ll never return.
