This is THE place for true authentic Italian food. My fiance is Italian and very picky when it comes to these things. We both love coming here. The desserts are something out of this world. The wait staff is always cordial and makes excellent recommendations.

This is such a nice Italian restaurant in Montclair! It’s really nice inside plus it has outdoor seating as well. I recommend making reservations as it’s always packed even today on Fourth of July every table was taken! I don’t blame everybody for coming here today on the holiday! I’d much rather dine here then go to a Fourth of July barbecue! Even though they were so busy the staff was really nice, and my waiter made some great recommendations. They started me with fresh baked bread with sautéed onions, and it was so good! For appetizer I had the lamb and pork meatballs in a light onion and guanciale infused tomato sauce with whipped ricotta, and that was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend ordering them! They were nice and soft, and the sauce had a great flavor to it! For my entree I had the veal pappardelle con osso buco which was very good! The pasta was cooked perfectly, and it was a nice portion. The desserts were all house made here, and I had the ricotta cheesecake. I thought that was just ok. I’m really looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes! Prices were pretty reasonable too! Parking wasn’t bad at all because there is large parking garage located in back of the restaurant. I highly recommend dining at Scala Del Nonna in Montclair!
This place is super authentic. If you want some real Italian food you come here. Every time I come, the food is on POINT. Never fails. Owner is very welcoming. Always comes to check in to make sure everything is going well. Servers are very attentive. Also big plus that the restaurant is BYOB. Always good to have a wine of your personal choice with great food. P.S. try the mussels as a appetizer. It’s phenomenal.

The food, the service, and overall atmosphere makes this a restaurant you really have to try. It will be worth it! It is BYOB and for added convenience, there is a well stocked wine store next door.

Amazing food. We had their spedini special, the orecchiette with broccoli rabe, sausage and spicy peppers, and the veal. Nice quiet atmosphere, great place to go on a date. The owner was super friendly. It is BYOB.
Amazing Italian food, can never go wrong here. Love to try everything since it is so fresh. Staff is also very nice and professional.
