Sour Sop Tree Cafe

For good reason, this has been a Montauk staple since I can remember. Was here this morning with my daughter and was reminded of why so many of us treasure Montauk. There are good people, like the store's owner, who keep Montauk together as a community. About the store. First, it sells the most fun things of any store on Long Island. Second, it has the best bargains in Montauk. Third, everything it sells is nice and high quality. The friendly reception is the icing on top!

We got surfboard rentals here and had no issues. They were happy to provide us with cardboard and straps to fasten the boards to the roof of my car. It was $45 for a board rental for the day, and we brought our own wetsuits but I believe they rent those as well. This doesn't appear to be the most hardcore surf shop in the area, but it is open the earliest which is helpful for getting out for the best waves early.

I saw a hoodie on their website in youth size so I called to see if it could be made in adult. Jill picked up the phone and was so great. She helped me custom make it perfect for my boyfriend and he is so pleased! It came out perfect. Jill spent the time going over how I wanted the placement of the text and which type of lettering I wanted. She cared just as much as I did about the project. Not only this but the hoodie was ready the next day and shipped out. I received it the very next day. It's perfect! Thank you Montauk Surf & Sports and thank you Jill!

Located in the center of town, this beachy rental shop made our weekend spectacular. On Friday we rented a moped and on Saturday we rented bikes. The nicest young man working the rental lot in the back was so helpful and happy-go-lucky. He sanitized the moped and then taught us how to ride it. The next day when we rented bikes he had us ride them around the parking lot to make sure the gears worked. He is the man. If we come back to Montauk we will rent here again... also thanks for the paddle ball game.
