Loved everything about this restaurant! Upscale decor, but comfy feel. The menu had plenty of options for everyone but not overwhelming. We had scallops for appetizer, 4 decent sized, wrapped in perfectly cooked bacon. Bread was fantastic and the butter/oil dip combo I will try to replicate at home. I had the crabcakes with asparagus and caramelized Brussels sprouts (subbed for rice). Crab cakes had almost no filler which I loved. They fell apart a bit, but the taste was great. My mom had meatloaf- also quite delicious. We ended up being so full from app, bread and salad that we took half of our main courses home! We will definitely be going back!
Food was really good. The restaurant is your classic “old school” small town “place to go”. There are plenty of regulars patrons that seem to have been going there for many years. Decor and building are a bit dated, but what you would expect for a place that was probably last remodeled around 1995. Seafood fra Diavlo was pretty spicy (as advertised). I would go again if in the area.
I've only been once but it was a good experience. The food was very good, wait staff was friendly and attentive. It was pretty empty but that's expected for a Tuesday. It's definitely out of the way and hard to find, especially in such a busy place like Monroeville. But do yourself a favor and take the time to find it. The food portions for the price are very reasonable. The starter bread was very good including an interesting cranberry walnut bread. I will be back again to try some other things.
