Breck's Station

I have always liked Brecks. Especially there chef salads. The prices had already been increased in price and still they were usually quite busy. It's under new ownership and they have cut the portions (in my opinion) alot. I am extremely sad to report, in my opinion, it is not worth it anymore 😭 Using today as a reference, unless things change, they will not last long. So very sad. If you saw the salads before you know how much it has been shrunk. It wouldn't fit on this plate and it would be heaping and falling off the plate if you tried dumping the whole bowl onto the plate. Seen this happen several times over the years, different places. Still sad especially a place as well liked as this one.

My meal was great, wife's was a little different. I had the country fried steak, had to take a whole piece home. Almost had to roll out the door. Wife had the steak salad, her meat had a burnt taste. We believe it was the seasoning getting burned while cooking, maybe grill temp was too high. The salad was awesome, but I had basically wipe her meat off for her. Don't ever go to the hospital with a nurse and never go out to eat with someone in the restaurant business. They are the pickiest 2 breeds of people. The staff was awesome and friendly. Update: took an old friend here for dinner. It was a dreary rainy night so not much traffic. I got the ham steak and wife went for the cheese burger. Our friend got the fish (haddock), which proved to be too much for her. I sampled hers and it was really good. Wife enjoyed her burger, but my ham steak was cooked perfectly.
