Flips Pancake House

Just passing through the Quad Cities, and found this gem of a breakfast place. We walked into a very clean and modern dining area, and were greeted by a pleasant hostess, who sat us immediately. Our server, Jackie, took our coffee order as soon as we sat down. The strawberry waffle was legitimately one of the best waffles I've had. Delicious. The apple crepes were huge, and I took half home. I highly recommend this little local spot. If the rest of the menu items are as good as the waffles and crepes, you won't be disappointed. Another note, the place was fully staffed, and the other waitstaff were taking care of the many other tables while we were there. With labor issues being very prevalent lately, it was very good to see a full staff working hard.

I've lived in Illinois a good while and have ate breakfast at a lot of places, but this place is the only one I've been to that served WARM SYRUP to go with the hot blueberry pancakes! 💯💕 All restaurants should do this! For that alone, it's 5 star! Throw in a waitress who was outstanding and I wish I could give it another 5 stars! I will be coming back!

Staff are friendly and it appears to be a popular restaurant with the locals here. Unfortunately we did not enjoy our breakfasts as much. The Nutella Banana Crepe - the crepe part of it is what we disliked. The Meat Lovers Skillet lacked flavor as did the House Omelet - both were below average tasting. The food looked nice but plain. The hot chocolate with whipped cream got 4 stars as did the chocolate milk. And what surprised us THE MOST was the bill - almost $48!!Would I go back ... no, not at this time.

This place is the best in the Quad Cities. That being said expect a little bit of a wait, but worth it. It has never disappointed us. Portions are very generous and you get what you pay for. Coffee is good as well as the fresh squeezed orange juice. Everything tastes fresh and it's all made to order. If you are visiting or a resident of the Quad Cities this place is a must have.
