I went to lunch with my daughter. I'd never been in the Village Inn despite working near it several times. It was quite tasty. I had the chicken fried steak with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The white gravy was excellent and plentiful. I had enough to cover the steak, mashed potatoes plus I had enough to sop my fresh biscuit. One daughter had baked chicken, potatoes, and green beans. The other had a chicken sandwich, crispy bacon and avocado and fries.. Everything was delicious. The waitress was fast and courteous, making sure we had what we needed. The chocolate, peanut butter pie with caramel drizzle was a great end to a wonderful meal. I had plenty of good coffee to go with my meal.
I have driven passed this restuarant for months thinking one day I will have to stop and give them a try. Well today was the day. I didn't have a lot of time but I wanted breakfast before work. I was a bit worried because the were on a wait when I entered. The warm greeting made me stay. After maybe 10 minutes I was seated. The food took a little longer but it came out just in time for to enjoy and get to work. Very good fresh and satisfying. Now I must return for some of the delicious looking desserts
Yet another Kansas City icon. Village Inn is best known for breakfast , served all day, it is a full service restaurant offering up large portions of comfort foods for over 60 years. My grandfather introduced me to the Inn when I was small and I have many memories of him enjoying a stacks of pancakes and a cup of joe before work. Easy to find , plenty of free parking with a dinning room large enough that there is rarely a long wait even at peak times. Prices are more than reasonable and the portions are generous. I have always found the place to be clean with friendly and helpful staff. Be sure to save room for dessert! Bring your appetite and you won't be disappointed.
First time visiting, walked in and was seated right away…Customer Service was great and the food was fast and delicious. Thank you for a Great First time experience.
I've had the Reuben and thought it might be one of the best I've had. Today I had the American cheeseburger . . . turns out to be one of the best I've had. Friendly staff, reasonably priced menu, lots of older people who would rather have a good meal in a clean restaurant with a close friend rather than a bunch of high priced dishes wrapped in hype. I'll go here a lot.
Good food! A very popular place, with lots of "regulars". No waiting tho, and folks cleared out pretty quick. Friendly and efficient wait staff! Breakfast is served all day and so good! The pies looked fabulous...
Today was my first time trying Village Inn. I ordered the Chicken-Fried steak skillet with pancakes & it was good. The quality service here was as good as usual. Keep up the good work staff of Village Inn & I hope to come back soon.
