Dock Rotz

Joined Dock Rotz Tavern for lunch on Mother’s Day at 11:15 am. They opened at 11 so we were able to choose our table and sit right away. I ordered a mango lemonade and I thought it tasted good! The food came out at 11:50 am after we ordered. I personally ate the tacos which had slaw, shrimp and sauce. TBH, I wish I ordered the wrap. They were okay, but basic. They were out of rice so I had to change to the onion rings for a side. Overall 3/5. My mom ordered the cheese curds and the tots. Cheese curds were over cooked where the cheese was melted all around, felt like you were eating just batter. Tots, didn’t try. Dad had the jalapeño burger. He ate it, no comments. We also ordered the chicken Mac and cheese, and the dock rotz burger. Both had good reviews. The last meal ordered was the Philly cheese steak. They wished it was more cheese!

Dock Rotz Tavern is a nice looking facility. The food was delicious and the staff was polite and friendly. The reasons why they are getting a 2 star review is because the waitress started off with drinks and appetizers. Came out in a timely fashion. For 4 adults and 1 4 year old, we didn’t order a lot of food. When we got our appetizers we ordered our entrees. About 20 minutes later, we still haven’t got our food. 3 burgers, a kids meal and 1 chicken tender meal, it took over an hour to bring us food. We had other bigger parties come in, sit down and order appetizers, drinks and entrees. And receive all of that around us. While we waited after 30 minutes we asked a staff member to check on our food. About 20 more minutes later, I asked the hostess to check on our food. Around another 10 minutes we asked another waitress to find our food because the 4 year old was starting to get crabby while waiting for food. Then our food came out. During this hour of waiting and asking, we never got checked on by our waitress nor did we receive any other drinks we ordered when we ordered our food as well. Then we got checked on 2 times after receiving our food, the first time they checked on us, we asked for boxes the second time the checked on us, they gave us our boxes. we asked for the check and waited another 20 minutes to have someone grab our checks. It wasn’t busy until after we ordered our food. We then left pretty quickly. I have heard good reviews about this place, I just hope IF we revisit it, the time to deliver the food is quicker.

This place was great to come by on a Saturday afternoon. It seems that a lot of families love to bring their little ones here and besides the environment being great, the food is awesome! So far since moving to Minooka in February we have not been disappointed. My one and half year old also enjoyed his kids meal along with the very nice waitress! I tried the jalapeño popper chicken which was absolutely amazing! All the flavors meshed really well together and I would recommend to anyone looking for a good chicken sandwich. We will definitely be coming back here to enjoy the outdoor seating in the months to come!
