Hong Kong Buffet

We were so excited when they were open on Sunday! I ordered over the phone, picked up my order, took the food to my moms. Very disappointed in the moo goo gai pan, tasteless. Egg foo yung gravy was thin, rice was funky. The crab rangoons were good and spring rolls were fair. Place was unappetizing and just not very appealing. If they clean the place up we might give them another shot. The Chinese place in Woodruff was closed on Sunday or we would have gone there.

Figure if we went in about 4:30 the food would be fresh and hot,WRONG!! Maybe because it was a Wednesday?Food was old and dry,not much but chicken dishes,the hot mushroom soup was bland,the rice was cold and the waitress/cashier was very very unfriendly if she cracked a smile her face would fall off. The price was stupid expensive for the quality of food they serve. $12.95 plus $1.75 for a soda not to mention we were barely finished with our meals first serving and she throw the check at us. The sad part is there isn't a good Chinese buffet in the whole northwoods area for miles from Wausau up.

This place desperately needs a makeover. The cabinet doors falling off, the discolored & dirty cealing tiles need replacement & the countertops all need to be refreshed as well as the carpet cleaned or replaced. It is looking pretty disgusting... Although, the food is always pretty good & the selections tasty. It's just really easy to lose your appetite looking around.
