Service was A+, half chicken perfectly cooked. The steak frites was incredibly tender & the creme Brûlée was perhaps the best I've ever had. Be prepared for a lively atmosphere and to share space potentially with strangers.

I thought it was a cool looking spot. Atmosphere was old brasserie style. The menu items were actually very French (I lived in France for a number of years) The charcuterie plate was good but the cheese portions were a bit on the small side. Homemade pickles were nice. Thé Royale cheeseburger was solid. The beef was excellent in texture and flavor but a bit over cooked relative to request. The frites were great. They looked unassuming but burst with flavor. It seemed like items were unsalted so they needed some augmenting with the shaker at the table. The house mayonnaise exceeds expectations - bravo! The black lentil and Wild Rice bowl was pretty good but lacked some depth. Beets were excellent. The Greek yogurt vinaigrette was more of a mousse and lacked salt. Good attention is paid to detail in preparation (e.g. egg yolk was heavenly soft, radishes were tamed with citrus overtones). Brie sandwich was pretty good but the Brie was a bit hard (a really good Brie should almost be liquid inside in my opinion). The baguette is pretty good by US standards but is missing the ubiquitous French crispy exterior. The sandwich came with gaufrettes (waffle style chips). They were a bit lackluster (some sort of flavored salt with them would make a great difference). Overall, I would recommend the restaurant and commend the staff for doing a great job of bringing a true French menu to MN.

What a quaint spot for a late-night bite! The service was excellent and everything came out quickly (we theorized the chef was eager to close and go on a date). The flavors were subtle and well-paired in the dishes. Overall, can’t wait to return and savor some new items while we imagine funny little stories.

We sat at the bar and the bartender was just as attentive for our food as I would expect at a table. Everything we tried was delicious, including the chilled soup. We had several vegetarian items, all had great flavor. I loved the French style with Uptown flair inside. It felt comfortable and local, yet like we could be on a Vaca in a French quarter somewhere outside of MN.

Our second time dining at Barbette, the food was delicious, service was great, a very cozy atmosphere. It would have been nice to have more dinner options. Over all, it was a great experience.

We had a wonderful Saturday brunch at Barbette. The atmosphere is elegantly comfortable with good music and superb service by Lidia. The menu had a lot of vegetarian options. We will definitely return soon!

Gluten free accommodating! Got the tartar app with red wine glazed salmon with a drink, hibiscus margarita. Great atmosphere and overall pleasant vibe. Was busy, but not too loud which I like and appreciate. Not easy to do that. Will go back!

One bite into my burger and I had to review. This is a great burger! And the lettuce is standout. Yes, the lettuce. I will be back next time I am in town.

Had dinner with a couple friends and everything was spot on. Busy, even on a week night, so I'd recommend reservations. The raw oysters were fresh and yummy, we tries both west and east coast ones! The local cheeses and spreads were delicious and the baguette was warm and soft. All the food took a bit of time but was made to order and came out hot and fresh. The Roast Poulet was divine, moist, with the skin cooked to perfection. The demi glaze was spot on and the veggies were delicious. You've got to try the shrimp scampi! The linguine is made IN HOUSE and is PERFECTION! If you order the strawberry crisp, eat fast! It comes out hot so the ice cream melts fast.

My friend and I came here for brunch. I did not manage to try everything I would like to, but what I had was good! First of all, out of all things, the atmosphere and vibe were great, and it was a good environment for intimate conversations. Food-wise, my friend and I had the Croque Monsieur, the Quiche, some fries, and waffles. We also had a vanilla crème brûlée as dessert. Everything was well-made. My only suggestion is that the green salad placed on the side of both the quiche and the Croque Monsieur seemed more symbolic and conveniently placed on the plate without much work into it. Personally I would like to see the main food in a dish and the side occupying similar degrees of importance, if that makes sense. I think for people who would like to grab brunch to catch up with friends, etc., this will be a great place. I am sure there is a lot more food that I did not end up trying this time, too, so I am down to go back!
