What a great find! My son and I popped in here for a treat. We were not disappointed! We split a bread pudding muffin and walnut cinnamon roll, plus took a lemon poppyseed roll which was enjoyed later. The bakery has 4 small tables, coffee, and free Wi-Fi. All of the other breads looked and smelled delicious too. We'll be back.

Delicious baked goods, stellar service and all smiles! I can't decide whether I'm grateful to have found this place or dreading the extra cardio I'm going to have to add.

Love it. Aki’s is a great addition to the neighborhood! It’s tough for me to get there early enough for the full selection, but when I can make it they never disappoint. As the name implies, Aki’s is more bread focused, so if you’re after pastries you might want to stop at Sarah Jane’s. But if bread and delicious pretzels are your thing, stop by Aki’s... frequently.

Excellent breads. Heritage grains. Easy to digest even for gluten sensitive folks. Fantastic pastries... mildly sweet not saccharine, but light. An amazing, helpful, and courteous staff.

Thee is little Aki and staff have baked that I don't enjoy. I have my favorites, some that he makes every day now, others that he may not bring in to his new Minnyapple line-up. The new savory rolls are excellent, maybe even addictive. Sourdoughs are all good, the dark round loaves are my very favorites. His wild rice bread at the Osseo location was very good when he had time to make it - my favorite of his more american pan shaped loaves. It is really just ALL good bread, the kind life is too short to do without!

It doesn't get better than this. Real German backing. I'm in heaven whenever I buy something to nibble on or dig into. In a few words - fabulous German backing.

Easily the highlight of the Minnetonka's farmers market. So excited to have amazing European bread so close to us every week! The pretzels and hard rolls hands down the best I've had outside of Germany. Sehr Gut!!

Yum!! I had the brotchen and bacon/cheese roll - so amazing. Also bought a rye sunflower seed bread, I haven't tried it yet ,but it looks great.

A must-visit for Pretzel Day (don’t sleep on the everything seasoned ones!) and chock full of delightful breads and treats. I also really love their chicken wild rice soup. Give them a visit and eat in their sunny, welcome space.

Incredibly welcoming and charming space with such kind employees! My friend and I popped in for the first time to grab some pretzels and sweet treats (the cinnamon stick and apple pastry were delicious). Unfortunately we didn't have any cash to leave a tip but regardless, the workers were extra accommodating and offered a free coffee refill. Will definitely be stopping by again! Thanks for being so awesome! :)

The best bread ever! We absolutely love getting a load of sourdough, all three kinds we’ve tried we’ve loved! I also love the Nutella pockets! 😋

My daughter and I got a haul of baked goods yesterday to try. The lemon poppyseed streusel is like a piece of heaven. Don’t eat this thing if you want to fit into your favorite pair of jeans, because you will likely eat the whole thing. It’s absolutely to die for. Our other favorites: cinnamon sticks, everything pretzel and the prosciutto Parmesan croissant (absolutely amazing!). That croissant was everything; buttery, flaky and perfect. The gluten-free hazelnut cookie was surpringly awesome! They also have great coffee to go with your sweets. The staff there are super friendly and helpful too. Thanks, Aki’s, for being a bright light in our neighborhood. We’ll be back. Every day. Forever. 😜

Aki's was great! I've been meaning to make it here for quite some time now, and I'm so thankful now that I finally have! The fresh pretzels are so good, as well as any of their pastries. I had an apple filled roll (can't quite remember what it's called 😅), and by golly it was amazing. If you want to experience some good authentic German carby-ness, then there's no other place to stop besides Aki's!

I can’t believe it took me this long to discover this gem! After coming home from living abroad I was never able to find a place that brought back the smells and tastes of my “Heimat in der Fremde”. I’m looking forward to going back again soon!

Hands down the BEST Deutsche Bäckerei in the state, if not the Midwest. Service is 2nd to none. They are so friendly. The bread is amazing, and makes me long to go back to Germany. Pair their Brotchen with Leberkäse (from Bavaria Sausage in WI) or their Bretzls with Weisswurst (also from Bavaria Sausage) and a Helles Bier and you are in heaven! Their chive roll, bread loaves, and sweets are just as fabulous. I always stock up when I make the 45 min (one way) trip. I hate driving in Mpls, THIS IS THE ONLY TIME I will be a big girl and drive myself in that city.
