Review Amazing Thailand - Minneapolis

Dana B (WI - MN - TN)
I had a craving for Thai food, and this location came very highly recommended. I enjoyed the lunch special of a spring roll and curry. The presentation was lovely, and the chicken in the curry was truly fantastic. It was a roasted and pulled chicken instead of the thinly sliced chicken that usually comes with curry. The curry wasn’t as creamy as I’m used to, but was still great tasting. I ate it all!

If you’re in uptown, Amazing Thailand is most certainly worth a stop. They serve some of, if not THE best Thai food around. I’ve come to be a regular, and highly recommend the cracked chicken, papaya salad, and tom kha soup—although there’s really nothing on their menu you can go wrong with. The staff are kind, attentive, and friendly. The atmosphere is comfy and richly decorated. Whether you bring a date, a group, or order delivery—it’s fantastic and you won’t be disappointed either way.

Look no further for exquisite Thai cuisine. I thoroughly enjoyed their fried pumpkin appetizer. I thoroughly enjoyed the pumpkin curry, which is great with mock duck. My companion's entre was also excellent. I can see why there was a steady stream of delivery/take out going out. If you wish to dine in, there is plenty of room. The booths even have coat hooks.

Consistently great Thai cuisine. My favorite place to go for a great plate of Pad Thai, Chicken satay, egg rolls, wontons or fried rice. Great service, lots of seating (small patio), with a parking garage across the street (near Roat Osha restaurant {which is also amazing btw}). Great for date night or a solo bite.

Delicious Thai food in the uptown area. I love coming here during happy hour, even better deals on great food. Food: Recommend the spring rolls, cracked chicken, papaya salad, and tom kha soup and cream cheese wontons—although there’s really nothing on their menu you can go wrong with. Service: staff are kind, attentive, and friendly. Atmosphere: comfy and richly decorated with thai decor feel. Parking is not close and you will likely have to park on the street.

Amazing Thailand has got to be one of the best Thai restaurants in Minnesota, hands down!! Their food is wonderful. So much flavor in everything, which is hard to find in Minnesota overall. I’ve not had anything on the menu that I did not like. And of course there are my staple favorites, like the Cracked Chicken and Drunken Noodles!! But the best thing about Amazing Thailand??…the house made chili oil!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!! This oil is something to be reckoned with, for real. The oil is so aromatic and absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! It tastes like it smells. And I put it on EVERYTHING!! I love that they sell jars of it for home use. Put it on eggs, potatoes, rice, chicken, steak, tofu!!! Lol. It is truly AMAZING and so is the food!!!!

A great spot. This is THE best Thai restaurant I've been to in the Twin Cities. They have lots of options to choose from, the food is excellent and the service is exceptional. I got the pumpkin curry with duck and I cleared my plate with no leftovers - a rarity for me. Reasonable prices too, will definitely be back.

The first time I've been to Amazing Thailand in 5 or 6 years was very good; not great, but very good. That's not a bad thing. I love Thai Food. To earn 5-stars from me, a Thai restaurant has to be in Thailand. Amazing Thai has very good food, good atmosphere a hole-in-the-wall, a well stocked bar, and staff that do their best to welcome you. I don't know how long it'll be around since Uptown appears to be in between reincarnations. The only way Amazing Thai has a chance to stay alive to regain its past glory is if customers eat and drink at one of the last of the Uptown dining gens. That's up to you. I promise it's worth saving through your patrona8.

Amazing Thailand has my favorite Red curry of anywhere I have been, and the Pad Thai and Basil Fried rice were also delicious. I have been here 3-4 times and every time the food is amazing. Great place to bring vegetarians or Vegans with plenty of options for them as well. Only challenge is parking can be hard to find as you have to park in the street at least a block away.

I used uber eats. Meal cane right on time. I was actually surprised how good it was and plenty of it. I ordered the shrimp and scallop meal abd a side of muxed vegetables with oyster mushrooms and a thai tea which was perfect for washing it all down.

I visited this wonderful place in Aug 6, it was my first time and love seafood food especially. I will come back again. Great food and good staff.

Nice Thai restaurant. Red curry lunch special with shrimp was quite tasty. Server was nice. Loud music was somewhat annoying.

Excellent service by Mario! Food was fantastic and we enjoyed the Christmas decor! Fun atmosphere and cute spot. We had the jalapeño wontons, drunken noodles and Panang curry. It was all good! Pink Panther cocktail was huge and delicious!

The vibe is pretty cool and the food is amazing! Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. Ordered the beef egg rolls, Pad Thai and the Red Curry with beef. Those egg rolls are huge and have so much flavor. The Pad Thai was so good but the Red Curry was the best! I ordered 5 on the spicy level and it was perfect. The broth was sweet from the coconut milk and spicy. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the beef was tender. This is probably one of my top 3 Thai places in Minneapolis. I am a fan.

Atmosphere and staff were awesome. The cream cheese wontons were delicious. Food came out quickly and was a good temperature. I personally didn't think the pad thai was anything to write home about. Clean restaurant and bathroom. Parking wasn't terrible, street parking a couple of streets over.

Visiting from Texas and prefer to put money local pockets. Stopped in for a late lunch after grabbing a few books from Magers and Quinn. While the place was empty it was 3:30 in the afternoon. Several people came in for to go orders, and my server was very attentive and friendly. Fried pumpkin was phenomenal! The condensed milk is a perfect compliment, one order is plenty for two or three people. Debated which curry to order and went with the Amazing curry with veggies. Great layers of flavor, perfect texture on both the sautéed and steamed veggies and a nice crunch from the peanuts and green onions. This is quite mild, if you’re looking for something spicier I’d ask them to increase the heat level to your liking! Definitely recommended and hope this place continues to fill people up with yummy food for many years to come!

I'd never been to this place before, but we stopped in tonight (Thursday) for the late night happy hour to get a late dinner. I asked for a table outside and we were seated right away. We were told our server would be with us shortly, but the server never showed up. We never got waters or even what we wanted for drinks to get started. My wife and I were super hungry, so after waiting for about 10-15 minutes for our server to show up, we went to the front and ordered our meal to go (we really wanted Thai food and we were super hungry, otherwise we would have just left). I had to explain to the two people up front (neither of them showed us to our table) that we had been waiting for our server to show up and we were done waiting. I also told them I'd like to place an order to go, which I think they were surprised by. Shortly after we placed our order, the employee who showed us to our table came back and saw us... she was quickly filled in about what was going on. I was expecting maybe an appetizer to be thrown in for free or maybe to comp us a couple drinks while we waited for our food, but we didn't get anything. All around the service felt disjointed, unorganized, and awkward. It was like they had no idea how to take care of a customer or how to handle a tricky situation when presented with one. After another 10-15 min. we got our food to take home and they rang us up. It was at this time I realized we were not getting anything comped or thrown in for free. Ok I get it, mistakes and miscommunications happen, but you've got to make the customer feel like it's worth coming out for. Finally we get home and are starving. I ordered beef pad thai.... What I got was beef pad thai with pieces of tofu all throughout the dish. At first I thought it was just a random piece that got mixed in because my wife ordered tofu pad thai, but it was all throughout the dish. Maybe some would consider this great, because in a sense I got the tofu as a bonus, but it wasn't what I ordered. My wife and I have eaten quite a few pad thai dishes at different restaurants around the cities and we felt like it was definitely in the bottom tier. All-in-all I would rate the service a 1 and the food a 1. I wish I could have had a drink to hopefully redeem the meal (it's kinda hard to screw up a beer), but that didn't happen. We will not be dining in or ordering out from this place again. It's too bad too, because the vibe of this place showed a lot of promise from the outside. #getittogetheramazingthailand #haveastaffmeetingsoonandgetonthesamepage

Staff are the best going out of there way to make you feel like family, the food selection is awesome, bartenders are the best . Great place in uptown to bring your family... the deco in this place is amazing , the outdoor dining patio is one of a kind. Love this place .

Like Uptown is it's hard to complain about slowish service or busy servers when you know it takes time to drive around and park esspecially durring rush hour. As a neighborhood bar Amazing Thialand has one of the best happy hours around. Their food is bretty big portioned. Some of the dishes realy are amazing. And the flavor is pretty decent if not very well made, cant say I've tried all of it though... So go for happy hour and sit near the bar, or order ahead and go pick it up-or remember to enjoy the crowd as if you aren't one of them when your sitting there on a busy weekend, because it does get busy, very busy. Like going to the state fair and complaining about all the people, the early bird gets the worm. I just had Pho last night sat at the bar durring happy hour the order took about ten minutes to get ready and I had enough to bring a meal home. --Some of the appetizers are great, the chicken wings are crispy crunchy and tasty from what I remember. Ussually I get the Tom Yum when I feel a cold coming on. The little out door alley/patio seating under the rickshaw [scooter] is pretty neat cozy and chill compared to most Uptown patios- if you can get a seat in the summer. Love it.

My favorite spot in town! The food is unbelievable, the service is always fast, our waiters/waitresses are so kind, and the atmosphere is fantastic! (Especially when the disco ball comes on for happy hour!) The patio is beautiful as well! Couldn't recommend this place more!

The server was nice and the food came out fast. However, when we asked for boxes to go, they told us they will pack it for us, which it's great. However, we didn't receive some of our left food inside the bag we brought home. When we opened the bag, some of the food were missing, . On top of that, we ordered food to bring home, and we didn't receive the sauce to go with our pad Thai. it wasn't a good experience for us.

I have been warned about this place with bad service. So me and my buddy went there for lunch. It has like 3 tables of people. Saw at least 4 servers running around. So we sit in the bar. Waited for 15 min no one came over we grabbed the lunch menu from behind the bar ourselves they didn't even realize we did that. And finally 20 min in some server came over took our order. And we have ordered tap beer which is right there in front of her she said she will be right back and pour us some beer then took off. We waited another 10 min. No beer no nothing. This other server came over to take a customer's order who has been there as long as we have. Then we ask her about our beer. She when on the computer and told us our orders are not even put in ... we just left. Never going back there. Worst service in uptown I reckon.

Probably the best Thai I've ever had. I was visiting from Portland, Oregon and usually enjoy very good Thai restaurants but this place is by far the best. Great environment, lighting, and service. The food, though, was amazing.

My bf's coworker recommended this place so we decided to try it out. We ordered the Salmon with Mango, Angel wings, wonton soup, and fish bowl. The fish bowl drink probably was the only thing that was good from our order. It took 30 min for all the food to come out. I thought appetizers are suppose to come out before the main course? Tried the angel wings first and they were a huge disappointment. Why would you dip stuffed chicken wings in bland batter and think that would taste good? Next, we tasted the wonton soup broth and dumplings which weren't that bad, but we had to dig through 75% of inedible, huge chunks of cabbage stems and onions. What happened to the presentation of the soup? And lastly, the salmon was the worst. Unseasoned, frozen salmon pan fried and placed on top of a cold rectangle of stiff pre-packaged mash potatoes. Canne,d candied yams and the canned juice were poured over the plate...and placed off to the side, the only fresh part about that dish was the sliced mango. The salmon was chewy, and a sad attempt of an asain twist. All in all, we waited 30 min for our food. Waitress disappeared; service was horrible because we had to wait 15-20 min just to get our check. Nothing authentic about the food and overall menu is overpriced.

The food is good, but service sucks! They do not have enough waiters. Many times I have to go to the front to have them send our waiter over to take our orders. Once you placed an order, it's diffict to find the waiter again.

In love with the fried rice and tom yum soup! Can’t get enough!!! I’ll drive an hour and a half from my house just for this!!!

The food is amazing!!! The service was the complete opposite. We have eaten here 3-4 times and the food has always been incredible. We went last Saturday night and although the host was sweet our waitress was horrible. I realize it was very busy, but we had to flag her down for everything from getting us drinks to grabbing us silverware. She never once checked in on us. I would chalk it up to it being really busy, however I had a clear view of the back kitchen where I watched our waitress and several other servers hanging out back there on their phones. It seemed like she was intentionally avoiding us and it felt like we were a nuisance more than a customer. I was appalled by the lack of customer service.

Great food! They have fairly large portions. Great atmosphere inside as well as small outdoor seating area. Many menu items can be made vegan upon request.

Large portions and def ment to share with others! Food was amazing and the thai papaya salad was one of the best I've had! The fried rice and calamari was amazing also. First time here and def won't be my last!

If you are looking for the best Thai cuisines in the twin cities look no further. The food along with the staff is Amazing.

Food is good, but pricey. The waiters are also horrible, second time here and still the same experience. Wait, wait and wait. The waitress even walks right past us multiple times and didn't bother to check up on us if we needed more water or drinks. Not going to this place again.

Its my favorite restaurant in the twin cities! Best ambiance and fantastic food! Love love LOVE this place!

The people who call this place bland and flavorless are probably people whose idea of mildly spicy is having battery acid poured down their throat. Life-changingly delicious.
