First time dinning at tea house and what an amazing time we had. Great service, and the food was delicious. We all ordered different dishes and very one I sampled was excellent. Highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

Such great food. If you are in Minneapolis, and love Chinese food, this place is a must. Right across from TCF Stadium!!

Hands down, one of the best Szechuan restaurants I've ever eaten at, including restaurants in NYC, San Francisco, and Hong Kong.

the authentic Chinese food .. the essence of its flavor translates you to its culture.

Great Chinese szechuan eatery experience. The classics are good and the food is pretty authentic. Interesting twists were the french fries in 麻辣鱼, and pumpkin 豆沙麻团. Would recommendation! While there were high points, I did find service was forgetful and somewhat pushy with recommendations, indicating the need for better cultural alignment.

From out of town and we are craving for Chinese food (we are from Los Angeles, California)This is a good place to have Chinese food but on the pricey side. We ordered Xiaolongbao, and the hot and sour soup that is not spicy enough for me. The stir fry veggies was surprisingly fresh and cook just right with garlic. I ordered the twice good pork. Ask to sit by the booth at the back (up to party of 4)

After reading other reviews I was very excited to try this place! I wanted everything on the menu! We tried the soup dumplings, Szechuan dumplings, lazy dragon, house spicy beef and lo mein. All very good! The spicy dishes could have been spicier for sure, next time I’ll ask for it a little spicier! The lo mein was very light on chicken, so be prepared, if you want more you’ll have to ask and pay extra. Flavor was nice on the noodles though. I’m looking forward to going back to try other dishes. Our kids are adventurous eaters and really loved the food!

Absolutely the best for a quick and easy lunch! The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) are my favorite and a great option for sharing with friends and family. I highly recommend getting some hot tea to go with it and check out the scallion pancakes as well. Super tasty!

Authentic and fantastic Chinese food. Some of the best I’ve had since moving back to the US from Asia. Service wasn’t very attentive though. Highly recommend the green beans and the egg plant.

We are at the Tea House last week and it was delightful. The food is excellent, I grew up in China and it’s definitely the closest flavors I can find to where I grew up in Szechuan province. Highly recommend. I also had the best service there, our server Ivy was so incredibly sweet and hospitable. I really haven’t had that kind of service in a long time; and it was so refreshing to have someone attentive with a positive attitude. Way to go! And thank you, Ivy!

This is a very nice place for some delicious Asian food. The ambiance is very pretty, I loved it. The staff are very friendly and the service is very good. They have a huge range of food options, they also have lots of vegetarian and vegan food options. This place serves alcohol as well. The prices are reasonable here. A must try and highly recommended place. Good for friends, family, date and colleagues.

Ever since still in college, I have been visiting Tea House whenever I could get a chance to, despite the long commute. I am a frequent visitor of this establishment (probably been here 200+ times), and that speaks to how much I love this place. As a person from northeastern China (the Manchurian region), I can attest to Tea House's food authenticity. A lot of dishes taste exactly like what I have had at home. I do think, however, that they cater to northern Chinese people more in terms of their cuisine type. There are other places in the Twin Cities that cater to Canton food more. In terms of dishes, I will not describe how I feel after trying each dish, because I have, over the years, pretty much tried their entire menu, so the 19 pictures I have are the only 19 I have taken. I will recommend the following: eggplant in garlic sauce (鱼香茄子), Szechuan green beans (干煸四季豆), pea tips (清炒豆苗, not sure if it is still on the menu), chive scrambled egg (韭菜炒鸡蛋), family tofu (家常豆腐), grandma's braised tofu (外婆烧豆腐), chestnut chicken (板栗烧鸡, although quality has decreased over the years), Dongpo steamed sliced pork (东坡扣肉), Chairman Mao's favorite pork (毛氏红烧肉), beef with potato (土豆烧牛肉), serrano pepper beef (青椒肥牛), and finally, the fried milk (脆皮鲜奶). What I love the most about this establishment is the fact that I have seen them trying to improve their menu over the years by keeping items and introducing new items that people may enjoy. It shows genuine interest in catering to the customers' food preferences, and I am in support, especially knowing that there are many Chinese restaurants in the country that don't do such. I will highly recommend anyone looking for authentic Chinese food to give Tea House a try, or even multiple tries!

We stopped in for Chinese New Year and loved the food! The employees were friendly and the service was good. We’ve also ordered food to-go and the quality was great.

Food was good and in large portion, except a little bit too much oil. Meizhou chow fun was really flavorful, if it has less oil i could have eaten a whole dish. A choy was fresh and yummy. All the dishes were ready soon and service was not super attentive but responsive enough to take care of us.

This is a classic place near the U of M campus. We tried their hand-pulled noodles and Taiwan braised pork, both of which were very tasty. I had one unpleasant bite where they left an anise seed pod in the pork, but otherwise everything was delicious. Our server was attentive despite it starting to get busy. Speaking of which, come early on the weekends - there were several parties waiting to be seated when we left about 6:30.

If you haven't been here yet and you enjoy truly authentic Chinese food... what are you waiting for? This place has been a go-to spot for my partner and I for over a year now and it never gets old. As far as their American Classics go, my partner orders the General Tso's Chicken each and every time we go! He says it's the best he's ever had. I've tried a handful of dishes here, but on the American Classics menu, my favorite is the Tiger Pork. Holy moly, is it delicious! The Tiger Pork is so crispy and is tossed in a tangy, spicy-sweet Tiger Sauce. This one is a 10/10 for me and I've ordered it more than 5 times now. I would also highly recommend the following: Eggplant Pork Noodles Beijing Mu Shu Pork Sesame Chicken (A very safe choice for those who are used to Chinese-American classics) House Spicy Pork (This dish is served in a spicy, chili-oil broth and I would highly recommend it on a cold day!) If you're feeling adventurous and you want to try one of the more authentic and interesting dishes, I'd tell you to try the "Guo Bao Pork." This dish was truly unique in regards to my own palate, and although the flavor caught me off-guard at first, I ended up really enjoying it! Our favorite appetizers are: Meizhou Pork Buns Pork Soup Dumplings Szechuan Dumplings (Served in a spicy, chili-oil) And for dessert? They have the absolute BEST Sesame Balls (filled with sweet red bean paste) I've ever had. I'm pretty sure they make them in house (but don't quote me on that) and they are incredibly soft, chewy and bigger than others I've had elsewhere. The bottom line is... GO TO TEA HOUSE :)

It was such a nice experience! The amount of each item is really nice and the taste is perfect! The price is really reasonable comparing to the amount of the food. The staff are also nice and caring! Do not miss the Mongolian Beef! Lamb in Tomato Broth is also another story which can not be missed!
