Review Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge - Minneapolis

Jay Shen
Before this place is listed as permanently closed, I want to leave a review letting people know that the memories I have had here were just great. During the summer on a hot day, this was just the perfect location to grab a drink and sit by the river, while enjoying some performances that perfectly complemented the atmosphere. I have had a few different types of drinks and each one has its unique style. Regardless of what drink one chooses, they have the ability to make it tiki themed as well, which would, once again, totally complement the atmosphere. There were also seats that allowed people to sit in them in kind of a hammock mode (not sure how to call it when it's not laying down). And decorations were also in alignment with its tiki theme. The pizzas were pretty good as well! They were relatively smaller in portion but tasted good. I wouldn't consider food as a review priority for this place because it is mostly famous for its drinks and atmosphere, and both are nothing short of great! I will miss all the memories from this place as it has allowed me to socialize with others in relaxing manners on summer days.

Really cool atmosphere for a fun night out with friends. Were here in colder season but have heard great things about their outside seating facing the river, excited to go back in the warmer season and check out the patio. Their pizzas are absolutely delicious! I’m not huge fan of rum cocktails in general, but if you are, their cocktails are really exciting! Smoking brownie dessert was also really fun and delicious!

Great theming with the decor! Not a large menu for food, but what they did have was really good. Server doesn't come to your table to take your order. You order through an app. When the server came with our order though they were very nice and kept up with soda refills. I probably would have given five stars, but it was a little pricey. It was something different for us.

Held my birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 party here. The place was crowded as heck because it's closing in a week, but the good music and atmosphere made up for the glitches like they ran out of beer! 😆😆😆.... at a bar!

Psycho suzi is an okay Tiki Bar, by default since it’s one of the limited Tiki Bars in MN. It has a large nice patio along the river for warm nights. Inside the decor is 70s tiki with bamboo and palm top to bottom. The carpet is neat- printed wood planks. There’s a sizable drink menu but is not served in Tiki Mugs unless you decide to purchase the mug. We had pizza, it was okay- nothing special. Drinks are below average. Ambiance is fun but not much else going on there.

The atmosphere was perfect for summer!! Great view of the river and cute patio furniture. Many craft cocktails to choose from! One eyed Willie wad my favorite

Only a handful of restaurants or bars are privileged to have riverfront property. Psycho Suzie’s is one of those places. In the warm months, the patio is irresistible, and the atmosphere is like a vacation. Be warned - the drinks are some of the strongest in the city!

Psycho Suzi’s Waterfront Lounge is a retro tiki bar and pizza paradise overlooking the high seas of the Mississippi River in Nordeast Minneapolis. Plus they have the most breathtaking industrial river views from our waterfront decks.  With two levels and multiple bars, Psycho Suzi’s magic and mystery awaits. Coming to food, Appetizers that steal the show at Psycho Suzi’s - Each bite is a culinary masterpiece, perfectly crafted to awaken your taste buds. From the tantalizing Cheese sliders to the savory hot honey pizza (Veg), every dish is a testament to the chef's expertise. A must-try for all food enthusiasts! Now, let's talk about the drinks. Oh, my goodness! The mixologists at "The Bar" are true artists, crafting concoctions that is visually stunning! Their signature cocktails are the stars of the show. I highly recommend trying their "Virgin cockatiel," (The Only Non alcoholic Drink in the menu) a tropical paradise in a glass It’s a refreshing blend of fresh ginger and fruits perfectly balanced and utterly addictive🌴 Lastly, the service at "The Bar" was exceptional. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, providing recommendations based on personal preferences. Remember, my fellow food enthusiasts, reservations are the secret to unlocking a world of culinary delights. Reserve your table, kick back, and relish the moments that await you at Psycho Suzi’s

Very interesting place—it's a full tiki-themed bar along the Mississippi River waterfront. Staff was very friendly and the array of drinks was very unique. I especially enjoyed getting to keep the special mug (after paying extra for the drink). A must-visit, unique spot in Minneapolis.

No servers, you only order online which is super weird. Next time I’ll sit at the bar for recommendations. Otherwise, cute tropical spot. Great aesthetic, good drinks. Beautiful outdoor area!

Comfy place with view over the River. You can have table for 90 minutes only, and when I arrived there was a waiting line to get a table and to order a drink. You can order only by the phone.

Was there on a beautiful Saturday afternoon around 2:00. Not busy at that time. Very Tiki Bar like setting. 😀🌴🛖We had a great waterfront seat in the shade. The Mai Tai is excellent and the tator tots are yummy. Great way to spend a weekend afternoon. Good music too!

We had a blast at the holiday Mary's Christmas Palace take over. It looks like the North Pole exploded over every inch of this place, and the menu is full of festive options. The service is a bit of a new concept, but effective and everyone was very friendly and professional. The GM Cassie runs a very smooth operation, and I would go many more times this season if I could!!

Atmosphere. Atmosphere. Atmosphere. Seriously cool vibe. Funky. Chill. Hilarious bar staff. Pizza to die for - it was WAY better than it had any right to be. Always on my list of “must visit” places when I visit Minneapolis.

Worth the stop! There is plenty of parking. This is a very unassuming spot from the front. Easy to get to and easy for an Uber to find. Once you enter, you're welcomed right into the whole tiki theme. When we arrived in the late afternoon, it was not busy at all. The inside was a bit dim, but we elected to go outside. The chairs and benches are made of metal, so they weren't super comfy, but there are "straw" tents you can also sit in with comfy pillows, which was super nifty. Also some wooden tables and benches. They also had swing seats, with views of the river. Very nice. The food was pretty good. Not amazing, but great for a bite of something different. Drinks are of course the feature. You can pitch in a bit extra to keep the fancy cups/mugs, although keep in mind they are cheaper "made in China" ceramic with cheap designs. I got two just for the novelty... definitely overpaid for them, but that's fine. You can order off of menus or QR code. You have to go up to make your order and they'll deliver to your table/area. Very friendly staff too!

My first time at this establishment. And it was probably the worst service I’ve ever had! I will not return! The server brought our drinks and we ordered a cinnamon roll and pickle roll ups. After 15 min he came to our table and said they were out of the cinnamon roll and asked if we wanted something else. We said no. We got our pickle rolls, the server never checked to see how they were. We had no silverware or napkins. After 30 min of not being checked on, bc at this point we started timing him we stopped a different server to grab our server, our drinks were gone as well as our water. He came to our table and said “you’re looking for me?” I said yea you haven’t been here for 30 minutes. He said, “I was here 5 minutes ago.” I then said no we have been timing you, we are out of drinks and water, still don’t have napkins or silverware and we have yet to place our order. So he took our drink order and food order. Brought our drinks, but had to ask him for more water. Btw we still hadn’t received silverware or napkins. Our food came, we had to ask for silverware, napkins and ketchup from the food runner. We cut into our food and it was not even warm. So now we are just annoyed so we ask for a manager. The manger comes and honestly acted like he didn’t care. He said the server was busy with a party. So I say well we are paying customers too, we just don’t matter. He apologized and asked if we wanted new food we said no, bc at that point we were starving. After all said and done a new sever came and took over. We got our food taken off, but when brought the bill the drinks were rang in incorrectly and I hadn’t had the cup deposit taken off, so we had to have to changed. I’m a server and I rarely complain, but how the server and management handled things, I was pist. My place of work wouldn’t never treated any guest how we were treated. I guess I’m lucky to work at a place that cares about my guests and doesn’t just look at them like another seat filled. I will never return!!! I would give negative stars if I could!!!!!!!!!!

Atmosphere is fantastic, cozy, patio is wonderful. We ordered appetizer ( steak bites) it was excellent but not enough bites for the price and waitress forgot to put them in. Friends ordered Thai pizza and Cubans and they were good as well. It’s pricey, expect to bring extra cash. With was that being said, I will keep returning

I don’t often write reviews, but I feel like I need to give a special shoutout, from one server to another. On July 20th, 2018, a friend decided to have a birthday outing here. Some people stayed the whole time, some people popped in and out, but at some point during the evening, our server, SUE, had nearly twenty open tabs just for our group. She was absolutely AMAZING. She balanced her attention between our large group and her other tables, she fetched different food and drink orders (plus refills!) throughout our time there (again, anywhere between six and twenty people at any point during our three hours there), and she was pleasant the entire time!!! I can’t say enough good things about SUE. This was my second time at Psycho Suzi’s and I quite enjoyed it. The only complaint I have is the parking situation. Both times I visited I had to park several blocks away in a residential area. Oh well. It gave me a chance to walk off a few of their DELICIOUS tater tots. :)

Fabulous summer patio, delicious pizza and drinks. Cathy was the most adorable waitress ever! She made the experience even more fun. Don’t forget to tip your servers well! Especially those that give such excellent service.

Awesome patio experience and Pete is the BEST server around. He kept us laughing the whole time, was prompt with bringing our drinks and food and made our whole experience so fun.

My first time there; recommended by a friend. The appetizer took a while to get; had to ask a couple times on where it was. Our server was accommodating and very friendly. A bit pricey, so expect to spend a little more. The Thai pizza and sauce on their tator-tot was delicious. The patio is large and has a great atmosphere. Overall, it was a good experience. We will be back. By the way...we thought the restroom labels were funny; such sensitive people these days!
