Review Martina - Minneapolis

Oh my goodness I can't emphasize enough how amazing this place is. We risked last minute plans with not having a reservation on a Friday night and got a spot at the open seating section right away. It was by the door but still great for smaller parties! Everyone was really friendly and helpful with recommendations. I started with the gauchos bola cocktail per a recommendation and it was delicious and smoky. The cup was mostly ice for the high price but their fun creations are definitely worth a try! We shared the beef tartare appetizer, which was AMAZING with the grilled bread. Similarly, the potato churros everyone talks about were incredible and worth returning just for those. Again, the mushroom pasta is a must try. It was packed with mushrooms and wasn't too rich. The vibe inside was so cozy and warm and everything else was perfect!

Pleasantly surprised by the upscale menu and food. This is not your average restaurant. Everything was beautifully planned and prepared. The potato churros were the star of the meal - basically a breakfast potato in a new shape, with a wonderful texture and taste (not sweet or dessert-like). The latte was good (sugar, no syrups) and I was happy they had Diet Coke as an option (mini bottles, brought with a glass with ice). The breakfast pasta and crab Benedict were delicious, though my friend said her French toast was a bit dry and asked for syrup.

If you’re ever in the Twin Cities, don’t miss the chance to experience Martina. The mussels were a standout!!! Martina offers a dining experience where impeccable service meets delicious cuisine.

We had an excellent 7 year anniversary dinner here! The cocktails (both spirited and zero proof) were delicious and balanced. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the herb salad added so many fresh flavors to complement the fish. I tried my partner’s flank steak, and it was tasty. But I think the real highlight on her plate were the potato churros. 🤤 We were regretting not getting a whole side of those! The service was pro - friendly and knowledgeable. Jeremy (our server) took great care of us. The shared flan was a perfect end to the meal. 🙏 We sat inside, but the patio looked very chill (so I included a pick on our way out).

I’ve been to Martina’s once before and this time I got the Carbonara, I was told it was too salty for most people, but as a salt lover it’s actually not as salty as I expected! Great mimosas as well, and we got a chocolate croissant to share, which is huge! I do wish the croissant was warmed up a bit because the chocolate inside is hard, so definitely try and ask for that if you order one for dessert or to go. It made it just a little harder to separate between a couple of us there.

A wonderful experience all around! We loved the lobster pasta, potato churros, arrabiata, the brussel sprout salad was uncommonly delicious, fresh oysters with REAL shredded horseradish(!), the empanadas were unreal, desserts all look amazing, but we had to try the panqueke - yum! They treated us to a taste of their n/a vermouth and raspberry sorbet, as it was our anniversary. Nice touch that they noticed neither of us was ordering alcohol and didn't even ask about whether to send the n/a version. Our server was so attentive and yet not "too much"; a perfect balance! We will definitely return, as there were several items we wished we could try, but not enough room in the tum. Such a cool space; we sat up front by the window, but the outdoor seating looked cozy and relaxing, and the rest of the dining room was beautifully appointed. Thanks to all who work so hard to ensure an A+ dining experience!!

It is always hard to decide where to meet with friends. After looking through a lot of options, we decided to give it a try. Firstly, it was not easy to find a parking spot on weekends even though it has the parking lot behind. I still took a while to find and wait for a spot. The interior of the restaurant is bright and clean, the atmosphere is good. A bit noisy though. But it is Sunday. The potato churro is delicious! The skin is crispy, and the potato inside is soft and tasty. I love it! Ordered Kyle salad. The scallops are amazing, but the onion inside the salad was spicy. The spicy onion was the only thing made me upset and ruined the good balance of the vegetables and sauce. The drink was fruity. Combination of different fruit would performance the good taste in the mouth. Love the octopus! The sauce was good fit with the octopus! The Octopus was soft and tasty. Recommend it! Overall, recommend this restaurant. And it has many options, should visit again for different foods in the future.

Another fantastic date night at Martina Restaurant in the books! On this particular evening we had the cinnamon fried calamari, spaghetti fra diavolo with lobster, chocolate hazelnut torte and my favorite non-alcoholic beverage in town, an iced masala chai. The calamari has cilantro and thin slices of serrano peppers on top if you like a little extra heat. The spaghetti is decadent, yet somehow light and fresh at the same time, with generous chunks of lobster throughout. I’d gladly order it every time. The chocolate torte had little bits of crunchy hazelnut sprinkled on top to counter the soft, dense texture of the overall dessert. I wish I could describe the flavor profiles more, but I ate my half so quickly I barely had time to savor it! All in all, it was the perfect way to wind down and spoil ourselves after a busy week. Romantic and delicious. If you haven’t been to a Martina, I highly recommend it. PS: Since writing this original review we had another wonderful dinner at Martina to celebrate my birthday. The food, service and atmosphere were, yet again, 5/5 stars. This visit we enjoyed the charred Brussels sprout salad, seared scallops, spaghetti fra diavolo (again), the potato gnocchi with carrot and a tropical non-alcoholic cocktail. The scallops with a sweet potato puree and pine nuts were my favorite bite of the evening. They were perfectly seared and packed with flavor. The gnocchi was very tasty, but there’s no comparison to the spaghetti fra diavolo — it’s that good. We’ll order it every time we come and continue to try different appetizers, sides and desserts. Oh, one small nitpick…I do wish the non-alcoholic cocktails had less ice. It’s a bit pricey for just a few sips. But, nothing that took away from our enjoyment throughout the evening. Photos from our second dinner have been added to this review. Happy eating!

Great Father's Day brunch menu. Waiter made good menu suggestions, and the mocktails are exquisite. Have to come back!

This place has good food and I'm definitely glad I went, however I wouldn't necessarily want to visit again. I ordered the empanadas, masala chai, and we split the potato churros. I loved the potato churros and the sauces they gave, but the empanadas, while good, needed a sauce that balanced them out better. The masala chai had way too much ice and because I didn't drink it fast enough the bottom of it was essentially water while the beginning was too strong. Overall, I appreciated the portions because although I felt full,l it wasn't overwhelming, but after that meal, there's nothing else on the menu I feel the need to try. I'm giving 5 stars because I still appreciate what they're trying to do and enjoyed my experience there.

Martina is always a great dining experience. The wait staff are polite and attentive and the food is delicious. The short rib pasta was flavorful and not heavy. The cream based pastas were also good but very filling. Potato churros are an always order.

The beef tongue bruschetta is an absolute must. It is so tender and delicious. The cinnamon calamari was great but huge - probably better suited for a larger group that can share it. Potato churros are a classic item here so get those too. I was there for a birthday, and they provided some raspberry sorbet on the house for dessert. It was an unexpected, very sweet gesture. Martina was packed on a Thursday night so be sure to have reservations. If the parking lot is full, there is plenty of street parking all around. The service was awesome. They were very honest with their feelings about certain food choices, which we really appreciated. Everything we ordered was excellent! Looking forward to my next visit.

My mom and I went here after the Twin Cities Heart Walk. This is one of my all time favorite restaurants for Brunches and Dinner. Many memories created here and I can’t wait to creat more memories with those I love at the Martina. Bonus point… take a walk at Lake Harriet a few blocks down before or after your reservation at the Martina.

Overall experience was excellent. It was a snowy Sunday but the restaurant was buzzing! Beautiful space, simple yet elegant yet comfortable. Service was great as was the food and the zero proof cocktails! We tried a bunch of things. The vegetable dishes were amazing. Creative, interesting, fresh and delicious. Love when a restaurant takes extra care to let the veggies shine. I would eat that Brussel sprout salad every day if I could! We also tried two of the veggie sides - grilled asparagus and charred cucumbers - both great. The pastas were excellent. As much as I felt like I ate that day, I walked away not feeling bloated or horribly stuffed and full which is a huge nod to the kitchen and properly cooking things. The celery root ravioli with crab was one of my favorite dishes of the night. The fusilli with pumpkin seed pesto and casarecce with braised rabbit were also great, but the ravioli was the star. Heavenly little pillows of beurre blanc and crab. The bavette steak with a sort of chimmichurri was great. The potato churros that came with it too we’re out of this world. They almost make me want to throw out the dessert churros for these instead. Crispy, delicious, melt in your mouth. They came with the steak but you can also order them as a side dish. The desserts were amazing. Super fresh raspberry sorbet and the panqueque with dulce de leche, bananas and crushed caramel was the perfect ending. Rich yet light. The caramel was unbelievably good. Highly recommend. Enjoyed everything but there were two dishes that were a little bit of a miss: We tried the spicy tuna tiradito. The flavor was great, the only draw back was the spice sauce(?) on top was put on so thick it was really intense and you could barely taste the fish. Flavors were great, just off on the execution. The octopus was my other disappointment. The presentation was beautiful. The sauce and potatoes were delicious but the octopus itself was chewy. It’s a tough thing to cook correctly (no pun intended) and I’m sure they nail it other times, just didn’t get it my visit but the rest of the dish I enjoyed. Overall fantastic and highly recommend!
