Dairy Queen

I went in on a Friday evening hoping that the blizzard cake my son wanted for his birthday would be in stock. Unfortunately it wasn't, but the manager, Frank, was awesome and said he would work a bit late and have it ready for the next day. He did a great job and I'm grateful for the extra effort he put for us!

Owner is so rude. Been ordering the same thing here for 25+ years. This time Got the order wrong 2 times and still refused to remake it correctly. Told me it was "too much sugar" even though I paid for 3x topping. Was too angry to demand a refund. I had left 20% tip and everything. I will never go here again. It was for my mom and she likes it a certain way.

I have been to this location and had a great experience each time when the manager is present. This evening it was 3 gentlemen who were very nice but unfortunately were very untrained. They weren’t sure how to make some of the menu items. Training should fix the issue but I ended up overpaying for what I received.

Walked in to observe manager and or owner publicly correcting a cashier which was unprofessional. The seating was piled up on one side of store. Ordered blizzards for myself and another. We got the Oreo dirt pie without gummies and drumstick. Mine didn't have brown chocolate color as display. The drumstick was ordered with chocolate ice cream but made with vanilla. The cashier (different then one being publicly humiliated) was clueless. I normally order thru the app but decided to scan at register since one blizzard was special order (can't special order on app). There is a process to receive your points by scanning phone when in store. They had no idea what I was talking about and owner/manager advised "I don't know the technical stuff". Oh the blizzards weren't turned upside down and we soon found out why. We went outside sat down at a bench to find them a melty mess. Will never ever patronize this location again.

If you want to be reminded what great service is come to the Dairy Queen in Glen Allen. When I needed a cake the next day for my wife's birthday party, they did NOT say they needed 48 hours notice, but worked with me to make it happen. Also, they gave us the flavors we wanted as opposed to rigidly insisting on a standard menu. In short, great people and great service are always a winning combination.
