An true little gem of a theater I was not expecting while visiting Milwaukee. It is a classic proscenium theater with three levels of boxes, but shrunk down. Tons of space front of house and a bar upstairs made intermission easy. Parking is also easy. If you are coming from a bigger city you will be amazed how easy the whole theater going we experience is, and as an Equity house so close to Chicago, you are not making a trade off regarding the talent on the stage.
I ❤️ this theater. Had a phenomenal time seeing Candide. Felt like I was at a Broadway show but without the traffic and hullabaloo. The actors were incredibly fun yet skilled. Lots of great restaurants nearby
Great theatre, great live music from the pit-- unexpected, but delightful! Venue is beautiful & intimate!
Absolutely loved School of Rock 2023. So many talented actors. The kids are especially entertaining.
This was my first experience at Skylight, I found it to be very enjoyable.
The staff was very curtious and accommodating.
I look forward to my next visit!
Very impressive. Seems worth the money. Went on a business trip here. Paid for by my business. (Yay). And I can honestly say it is a beautiful building. Helpful staff. The production is very good. I didn't expect somewhere in Milwaukee to have a good theatrical prescense. I am seeing Annie and it is delightful! Sound is good and lighting/stages are convincing. Overall so pleased!! Will be coming back many times.
All I can say is WOW. What an incredible team of people that pull off the absolute impossible and go out of their way to make your time here special, impactful and unforgettable. Truly grateful for the work they do and the art and love they continue to share with Milwaukee. Thank you Skylight Music Theatre!

This was my first visit to Skylight, I saw the play Evita. This review is more for the theater than the play (which was great).
The theater was smaller than I anticipated, looks like it holds about 300 people on 3 levels. I sat in the second level, where there are only 3 rows. The third level has 2 rows. I am a fairly big guy and the seats were plenty wide and a lot of leg room. I sat near an end of a row and could still see the stage great. The only problem at least on the second level is there are about 5 steps to the first row and no railing. There were a lot of older people at the show that had to be assisted getting down the stairs.
The sound in the theater was great. There was a small orchestra above the stage, the sound was clear and full. The singing from the performers was all plenty loud and clear.
Parking can be tricky in the third ward, we parked on the other side of the park at the end of Broadway with no trouble.
I very much enjoyed my trip to the Skylight Theater and will go back.

Attended "Noises Off" last night. This was my first time seeing this particular play and my first time at Skylight Music Theatre. I have to say I had a fantastic experience. The cast was amazing. At the particular show I attended, one of the actors was sick and an understudy had to step in last minute and she was phenomenal. The Skylight theatre is a beautiful venue, with a very friendly staff. I will definitely be attending another show.
Enjoyed another great production at the Skylight Music Theatre. This time it was Newsies! From the friendly and helpful lobby staff to the top notch performers, this was a great show. If you can't make it to this particular show, be sure to check out the Skylight when you get a chance. The Theatre is beautiful and we have never been disappointed with a performance at this venue.
