Japanica

Overall, it was a good meal. The only thing I did not enjoy was the salad dressing and the size of the pieces of letuce. Also, without a knife the salad was hard to eat. The scallops were perfectly cooked. The rice was very tasty as well as the vegetables. We were very surprised how much food we had given we ordered the lunch special. We might go back and try again.

We usually order take out from Japanica and have never had a bad meal. My husband loves the sushi and I stick with the teriyaki, which is absolutely delicious. I really have to highlight the customer service, however. We ordered edamame with our take out tonight but unfortunately staff forgot to put it in our bag. The restaurant called me not 5 minutes after I left to let me know about their mistake and offered me credit on a future order. I was so pleasantly surprised that they called me to make it right. Everyone is so polite and I love the service here!

Our dinner party included 3 preteen kids who really enjoyed the antics of our talented chef at the hibachi table! The meats, veggies, and fried rice were so good! We also loved the salad dressing. I had a combo dinner of Scallops and Filet Mignon. The filet gets cut into smaller chunks as it is searing on the grill. Top quality!! Others had everything from chicken to salmon. The portions were generous, and we all gave the food 5 stars. The only issue was that the carpet on one end of our table was quite soaked with something. There was no odor, but I could hear and feel it squishing as I stepped on it. Otherwise, everything was perfect! We are already planning our next trip to Japanica!

Food is excellent. I had the Chicken Katsu which comes with Miso Soup and a Salad. I also had a cocktail called a Tsunami. First time having Miso Soup. Didn't care for it. But please don't let deter you as I did not know it was a fishy soup, and I hate fish. The salad is simple and comes with a house dressinng already on it. Interesting yet very tasty. The Tsunami is fruity and fun, not real sweet but no heavy alcohol (until you hit the bottom of the glass). Very good. The Chicken Katsu? SO yummy. The chicken is tender and juicy, and the breading is very light. Served with white rice and sauce. Always too much for me to finish in one sitting so I have lunch for tomorrow waiting on me. They do have several hibachi tables with entertaining chefs. Personally I don't like sitting over a hot grill to eat, but I know a lot of people really enjoy them with a few in our group glued to watching the chef at the various hibachis. In addition they have a HUGE variety of sushi. Cannot comment as I have no interest in eating cooked fish, I'm certainly not eating it raw. The one person in our group who had sushi really enjoyed it though. The only reason for the 3 on the atmosphere is because there were several birthday parties with guests who don't understand how to have a good time without screaming every time the chef through oil on the grill top. Made for a very disruptive evening for everyone else in the restaurant. The staff is VERY friendly explaning how things were cooked, making suggestions for pairings, making sure we had what we wanted/needed.

Very great option to take shashimi lunch special that consists of the chef's choice of the day. Comes with soup & salad. Fast service and friendly staff. I come here several times at week. Enjoy! Got Spicy maky dinner and the service was fast and attentive. Several people celebrate birthdays so you'll hear the birthday song play quite a few times but is the magic of the place. I've been eating here regularly for about 10 years. It's not overpriced and hibachi is always fun to watch for first time visitors.
