Mistral

They have a limited menu right now, but it is a lovely place inside right next to the theater. The food, server/bartender, and ambiance were stellar all the way around. We went on a Thursday so we were one of only three tables being used, which was nice. I plan to go again...and I'll add photos next time.

Fantastic restaurant and Mediterranean cuisine. Came in on Sunday night. The environment is great, had the octopus as an appetizer, venison burger was phenomenal and the flan for dessert which was amazing and soaked in this valentine caramel coffee syrup. Cocktails were spot on as well! Def would return. Our server was great also and very accommodating!

A very special take on Mediterranean cuisine. Definitely not a place to go to when you want to eat common everyday Mediterranean food. But that's not a bad thing. This place offers a fine-dining experience that is much needed for the Mediterranean cuisine in a city like Milwaukee. Food options are very creative and it is one of these places where you should always ask for advise from the server and even trust the chef's choice. The restaurant is located inside a small-sized movie theater and they have bundles where you can bundle your dinner with a movie ticket. They also offer 3-course bundles that includes an entrée, an appetizer and a dessert. The service was really nice. The server was professional and helpful and she did give her advise when asked. Street Parking is available.

Casual yet high end dining in classy setting inside a classic theater building in the popular dining destination on the east side of Milwaukee offering southern European and northern African inspired dishes far away from from the common Mediterranean ones. Great setting with a full service bar make this a destination in itself. Now serving weekend brunch, as well. Special occasions don't upset it either. Enjoy the ambience and the flavor of great cuisine.

We've been wanting to try this place for the last 6 month - and what an amazing find ! Perfectly-executed inventive mediterranean-inspired food, full of flavor. We ordered duck wings, octopus and turmeric cauliflower for appetizers and loved all of them, especially the sauces. For mains rye-crusted halibut was delicious with flavorful rye berries - what a treat. Rabbit cacciatore was perfect - meat was moist and well balanced with the tomato sauce and polenta. "Mistral trio" of deserts was a perfect ending for this wonderful dinner. Small, but competent wine list, cocktails, half a dozen draft beers and half a dozen bottles will make a beverage pairing of your choice. Impeccable and friendly service. Highly recommended !!!

Please try this beautifully designed place to sample fine Mediterranean food as soon as you get a chance. Four of us chose to sit in the delightful nook with ambiance to set the mood. We ordered the seared cauliflower and pita with dipping sauces, excellent. I could have just eaten piles of the cauliflower - it was so good. For entrees we ordered two halibut, tuna and steak. The halibut was absolutely divine, my favorite fish prepared perfectly. The tuna - decadent. The steak was very good and tender, served with finger fries. We were very happy with our meal and the atmosphere. Heidi our server was great and got every detail right. The very personable and talented Chef came out to ask how our dinner was going which was a lovely gesture. I will absolutely make it a point to come back and try the rabbit.

My husband and I were so excited for a night away for some “us time”. Our server, Rebecca and the ambiance of Mistral made our little time together so wonderful. We both had an appetizer, entree and dessert. All were amazing. My husband rarely shares, but couldn’t wait for me to try his dishes, too. My filet was crispy perfection on the outside and done so well in the middle. So many flavors. Enjoy your night at Mistral too!

Loved everything about our dinner. Nice cozy atmosphere set next to the historic Avalon theater. Appetizers were perfect flavor and portion, we recommend the duck wings and grilled octopus. Entrees were great as well, especially wonderful was the European bass. Every dish was a bit of a Mediterranean-American fusion. We made reservations and would recommend the same.
