Usinger's Famous Sausage

There is no better sausage made right here in Milwaukee than at Uzinger's. It reminds me of our family sausage company called Ziemmer's. It was where fresh quality meats were carefully prepared and smoked by two German Wurstmachers. That full flavor taste will be remembered for a lifetime. Fritz Uzinger and Harry Ziemer shared the love of reproducing 'old family' special recipes, especially for Summer Sausage, that kept the loyal customers coming back for more. This is the ultimate meat shop. The best part is they have a whole section of “seconds” which are deeply discounted because they are slightly imperfect, usually they have been cut to the wrong thickness. My dad loves anything that comes out of this shop, and even as a vegetarian I am willing to stop in to make the purchase.

We can't begin to describe how amazing this place is. There's enough staff to accommodate a large crowd, it's very clean, and there's a very large array of meat choices. We had a hard time choosing because we were afraid it would be super expensive. That's the best part! It is so cheap! We wish we had brought a cooler to fill up our car to take back more. Next time we're in town, we will definitely stock up. The staff were very knowledgeable too and helped us out immensely with what to pick based on our preferences.

When I travel to Milwaukee I love to stop by a childhood favorite place. Usingers still looks the same. Operation have changed a little bit. Suggestions shop all of the cases in lobby first with a basket. Then take a number to ask for additional items and to pay. Customer service personnel are friendly and very knowledgeable. Items even 2nds are fresh and delicious. Don't pass up an opportunity to stop here while in Milwaukee. I have traveled several times by plane TSA request item in original packaging and frozen if in carry on.
