Homestead Resort, Simon's Restaurant

Wonderful place to dine at the Homestead Resort! Beautiful dining room and awesome views from the large windows! Breakfast here was great and very cozy with the fireplace going and snow on the ground that enhanced the already beautiful views! Dined here while staying at the Homestead and it was a wonderful experience! Also a nice added amenity they sold wine by the bottle which eliminated the need to go into town and find a place that sold wine. The place had a Happy Hour as well which was also a nice touch!

Went this morning for Mother’s Day brunch. Food was cold even though our reservation was at the start. They seemed very unorganized, took people without a reservation in before our party and another with reservations that were waiting in the lobby. They were missing some of the things advertised for the omlets. Drinks were NOT included which, for a buffet, are normally part. Coffee was $3 in the buffet, but complementary in the lobby just outside the door. The cobbler was terrible. Not sweet at all. I personally like my peach cobbler sweet and buttery, but it was almost a savory dish. Not good. I probably won’t go back, first time, party of 8.

This is a fine place to grab a casual dinner in the area. The service is good, not great. The views out the large windows are beautiful. Complimentary rolls were very good. My pot roast was delicious and all the fried sides are delicious with excellent breading. The bison chili was tasty and tender as was the ham and bean soup. Resort was definitely not fully occupied, so speed was fast.

We were seated promptly by the window with a wonderful view, so that was promising. Then came the service..The waiter gave my girlfriend a glass full of ice, and me a glass full of water. He also put his fingers on the rim of the glasses. The place was not that busy, and it took way to long to place our order. We got the Heber valley charcuterie board. Which was supposed to be local cured meats, and cheeses with pickled veggies, and seared fig sections. It was laughable what was brought out to the table. It was a fabulous board with a mozzarella stick sliced in half with some packaged deli meat, and no seared fig slices to be found. A few random pickled cauliflower pieces, and an assortment of really tough cured meat, and bad cheese. We also got the bison chili it wasn’t terrible, but after that charcuterie board and poor service all we wanted was to go back to our room. The atmosphere, and restaurant is beautiful, but the service, and food was not pleasant at all.

My wife and I stopped at the Homestead inn a Sunday Afternoon drive. We had a nice lunch with a beautiful view overlooking the golf course. It was quite and pleasant with a piano playing in the background. I had the Heber Burger. I asked for some Mayo, they have me a garlic aioli. It was pretty darn good. I will go back. The food was pretty good, but the atmosphere was GREAT if you are looking for a quiet place to talk and enjoy someone's company, then look no further. This place a large enough so that you aren't sitting on top of your neighbor. It was a nice experience.
