Extra Billy's Barbecue

Ive been eating at Extra Billys for 35 yrs...i was first introduced to their Broad St location by my coworkers at Investors S&L...ive loved it from day one...food is always good, price is very reasonable considering portion size, and staff are always courteous and helpful. When my friends say "lets go to extra billys" they get no argument from me !!!

I went here multiple times as a child and remember it being good. Saw some bad reviews on here but decided to give it a try myself just to see. Me and my wife went in and tried a flight of all five of the homebrewed varieties. All of them were very good, better than I had expected. Not one disappointed. I would not come back to eat food here. The burnt ends were okay but my brisket was probably the worst I've ever had. Just dry and tasteless. As others have said, I couldn't taste a bit of smoke. Had to drown it in sauce and still couldn't finish it. My wife's pulled pork sandwich was not very good either. Sides were decent. We did receive excellent service. I wouldn't come here again for food, that was about a 0/5. But if your into craft beers they do have some pretty good ones here.

We are starting a cross-country journey to relocate on the West Coast, but had to make Extra Billy’s our last meal in RVA. The wings were as crispy as ever and had the perfect pairing with a Citrawation beer. We will miss the wings and house-brewed beer for sure!
