Sake Cafe Veterans

One of the absolute best sushi places in Metairie! High ceilings, great sushi chefs, flowing saki, and some absolutely delicious rolls! I couldn’t recommend this place more - get the Long Horn Roll - to die for! Also this is a side recommendation - the calamari here is fresh, hand breaded and UNREAL! Get it…it’s delicious!

My sister recommended this place to us: so we brought her with us. The atmosphere was nice. The staff amiable and diligent. I had no idea what to order and frankly forgot what I ordered. But it was good and enjoyable; just like the pieces I liberated from my wife's plate. The only thing I did not find great was the green tea. It was okay but it was not something I would try again. I try new things when possible - now I know I don't like green tea!

My sister and I have been to Saki weekly for about 4 months. She had been there longer than me. The wait staff is amazing!! About a month ago I found plastic in my rice. I told the waiter and she brought another bowl. Today my sister and I went to eat and I found paper in my rice. I requested to speak to the manager and told him what I found. He brought the papers back to the chef and he said it was from the sushi. I said I was upset because I found plastic and paper in my rice. Not only was the manager apologizing he was not in the least bit worried. The shrimp tempera was always amazing!! I assured the waitress that this would not affect her tip which I tipped her 25%. After I paid I went to speak to the manager and I told him how unhappy I was with his response. He not only did’t apologize, he told me it was my fault about the incident! I told him I would never come back again My sister and I walked out and we were talking in the parking lot and the manager came out and started yelling at me to not come back!!!! I have never had an experience like that!!

Food fair at best, octopus should have never been plated. Waitress Eka was rather non existent, got the order wrong and didn't explain two upcharges before hand. We got an order of Fried rice to go since I was cooking Chinese the next day and it was elementary at best. I asked if they had combination fried rice and she said yes,, with pineapple? I said sure, why not! Well... The sticker shock of $18 after the upcharges for fast food rice was the clincher. Will not be back anytime soon. Little Tokyo cares about their customers.
