Pregame dinner. Our order was taken quickly enough, but even though we were having burgers, quesadillas, and steak salad, the food took about 30 minutes to serve. Food

I hadn't been to Peppers in over 10 years, and it was like going to a dear friend's for dinner. The service was friendly, the atmosphere charming, and the menu selections were creative and delicious. I ordered the green chili wonton appetizer and lobster gnocchi for my entree. Both were attractively plated and simply sublime. The bourbon pecan pie was very delicious, a little over sweet for my palate, but I finished every bite! I definitely won't wait so long this time to return.

We have eaten here several times and always enjoyed our meals. I didn’t want any corn so I chose the vegan fajitas - the menu listed them being sautéed calabacitas, bell peppers and onions. Sadly, they were mostly onions with some bell peppers and very little calabacitas but lots of corn!? Disappointing but still delicious! Topped off with the Mezcal Mule! I’ll try for the calabacitas again next time!

Literally the best meal I've had in recent memory. We discovered this place totally on accident and now it's a "must revisit".

We have eaten both in Peppers and in the Double Eagle. Peppers is a beautiful arboretum full of trees and plants. The setting is wonderful as is the food. Slightly pricier but worth it. Excellent wine, beer, and liquor selection. The Double Eagle is in their fancy ballroom in the back of the building. Food is fantastic but expensive. We highly recommend the ceasar salad and bananas foster. Go there is you want a special treat.

Place was very clean, staff was friendly, food was good, but service was very slow. I don't know if they're understaffed or what, but we were there almost an hour and twenty minutes, for a group of four that had ordered four plates, to get our food. When the waitress came back to check on us, she was like "Wow, you all ate that fast," as we were done eating, but no, we were not fast, you were super slow. Made the mistake of ordering a piece of the pecan pie, how long do you think it took to get that? It was over 10 minutes. So if you're in a hurry, this is not the place for you. If you have time to burn, it's great. I have no complaints about anything else.

This place has such cute decor. The food is alright. I like their complimentary chips and salsa they give. Definitely worth visiting .

Was a little confused at first. Thought we were in another restaurant we looked at, turns out they are both in the same building, just depends on where u sit. Otherwise, not a bad place. Chips and salsa were good with homemade chips, I had the shrimp fajita which came out fast and sizzling. My friend had an appetizer which loved, just forgot what exactly she had. Inside had great decor and if u ask the staff for a ghost story, they are happy to share. The building has been known to be haunted. Other restaurant is a steak house, with a menu that looked good but very pricey. We opted to stay in the area for Peppers. Very friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.

I’ve had an ongoing love affair with New Mexican food for the past 38 years. So recently when I came to Las Cruces on business from Albuquerque is was looking for a place with great food, great margaritas, and great ambiance. I found all three in spades at Peppers located in the historic Double Eagle on the plaza in old Mesilla. The decor is authentic to the hotel’s origins in 1848 and to historic New Mexican culture. The silver coin margarita was just perfect and I believe the food was the best New Mexican I’ve ever had. Nothing came from a can and everything seemed prepared with skill and pride, probably from scratch. It was so good I didn’t want the meal to end. The service was prompt, accurate and welcoming.
And I even read a letter from Billy the Kid to governor Lew Wallace, framed on the wall. I could have spent hours just looking at all the period artwork. Peppers was far better than I’d even hoped for and I can’t wait to go back!

We came specifically to try the World’s Biggest Green Chile Cheeseburger. It did not disappoint. It fed 4 adults and a toddler and was quite tasty! Fries were good, decorations were fun, and the restaurant has a haunted history which is also fun! Service was good, the waitress was nice, no complaints! I give it 5 stars instead of 4 because they’re doing something unique (giant green chile burger). Give it a try!
