Daylight Donuts

My first trip to Blues City Donuts was good! I’m glad to see a donut shop in Memphis with some out-of-the-box flavors. Along with regular glazed and an apple fritter, I got an Oreo donut, strawberry crunch, and strawberry cheesecake. The apple fritter was a little dense around the edges but good in the middle. The regular glazed were also a little dense, but tasty. The star of the show for me is the strawberry crunch — I could polish off a dozen of those in no time. I need to revisit to experience more fun flavors (like Fruity Pebbles and red velvet) and try a chicken bismarck.

First time trying this shop. As you can see, I ordered a half dozen and they look great! Very tasty, creative, and I love the texture! The only spot in Memphis that offers speciality flavors!! The only reason I gave a 3 rating because they were extremely to sweet for me!! I would definitely recommend anyone to try them though!

Incredible, unique donuts from a great small business! Their inventive flavor combinations and quality of products is unmatched in the area. Good people providing memorable treats for a hungry population. The Strawberry Cheesecake long john was great, and the Caramel Apple Pie donut was better than a slice of my mom's pie, but the Turtle donut was perfection! Definitely going to be a regular stop to treat myself!

Not your average donut store. The cinnamon rolls are top notch. The turtle donut is the best donut I’ve ever had. I would say they specialize in serving high quality specialty donuts. There have been a few times they didn’t have what I wanted in the counter but they were willing to make them when asked. Friendly and courteous staff and they try their best to take care of their customers.

Donuts were pretty good. It was more about the awkward service. They had two little kids working the counter (maybe 10 years old), which was totally fine. However, the two adult women who were inside didn’t speak (standing about 8 feet away). They carried on their conversation like I wasn’t there and let the two children do it. They did speak when I left, but it’s the point. I don’t spend money anywhere people (the adults) don’t acknowledge me when I walk into their business.
