Was staying overnight in Memphis and decided a place that was voted best karaoke for 8 years straight would be a good place especially we prefer dive bars. Jerry behind the bar is anything but friendly and there roaches on the bar. The few people in he place appeared be a pretty downtrodden bunch. Can't comment on the karaoke but the terrible and unfriendly combined with bugs had us quickly drinking our drink and getting the hell out of there. Headed to the cove now and I confident that they will be better. Would be if difficult be worse. not visit the if a good time is what you are looking for!

Been going ever since i was 7 yrs old..yes as long as there's food served on a bar i was allowed until 10 pm.before anyone wants ti get technical.N-Ways windjammer helped me fund my passion in music my mom married the owners son ya da ya da ya da but it is a family owned abd opoerated business.most of the customers are family and ill have to say one of my good childhood memories. Best staff and the most fun karaoke....

This is was supposed to be a karaoke place, but apparently if you aren't a regular you don't get to sing. I came with a mixed crowd and waited for 3 hours...they never called us to sing so we will never spend money there again. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

I had the most horrible experience I've ever had at any bar on 6/5/2015. I was accused of perverted actions, yelled and cursed at, and threatened by the staff. I was discriminated, harassed, and attacked. I would not recommend this establishment.

I recently visited after not having been here and a good solid 8 years, and nothing has changed, which was very exciting! Beer, booze, and late-night karaoke! Always a good combination!

Too much fun!! The karaoke is awesome. Many regulars and perfect drinks. Food is also great for being bar food.

Pros: Cheap beer and people actually sing. It's a hole in the wall.
Cons: dingy atmosphere, older crowd and staff. (Nothing wrong with older people, they just kill the vibe like mom and dad haha.)

Hey everyone. As most people know, THE WINDJAMMER IS NOT CLOSED!
The Windjammer has been in business for 50 years. The Windjammer has been voted the #1 Karaoke bar in Memphis TN for the last 7 or 8 years in a row by the Memphis Flyer readers poll. It is unfortunate that (my guess) we have haters because of we are #1. Ruthell the owner (age 82) would love for you to visit and judge for yourself. If you visit, you will probably become part of the Windjammer family.
