Wanted some good Sweet and Sour Chicken. Exactly the kind you would get from a Chinese American takeout joint and that’s what I got. The reviews don’t due this place justice. The food was fresh and affordable. The portions could last 2 meals. Service was quick and simple. Most combos come with white rice but I would recommend spending the extra $ for the house fried rice. Delicious!
Best takeout Chinese I've had in TN from Nashville to Memphis. This place actually has the BBQ pork I grew up on from takeout back in Oregon. They even make their own incredibly good spicy Chinese mustard. Pro order: General Tso's with house fried rice, crab rangoon, egg drop soup, BBQ pork, and two orders of spicy Chinese mustard.
We enjoyed this place. We placed an online order for delivery. We ordered hot and sour soup, wonton soup, Szechuan chicken, and Mongolian chicken. When ordering online, there was no option for our chicken dishes to upgrade to fried rice (which is an up charge) so I put it in the notes. I was fully expecting them to just charge my card for it, but they were so nice and called to let me know they would be charging me more before they ran my card for the extra charge. Large portions and tasty food! Delivery was super fast too!
I often order from Wang's Mandarin House. It's always to go. My favorite dish is chicken and shrimp fried rice. They always have my order ready when I get there. Never a long wait. The staff is very friendly.
My favorite for many years. The house fried rice is always so fresh. I'm bringing 2 friends soon for takeout. Driving across town mainly because they use NO MSG.
I have eaten tons of Chinese cuisine and Wang’s Mandarin House is in the top 5. I ordered Uber eats delivery from here on a Sunday at 5pm. It arrived Hot, Nice portions, and packaged perfectly. I ordered General Tso’s chicken, sweet and sour chicken, Wang’s Lo Mein, Wang’s fried rice and egg rolls. All the food was fresh and seasoned nicely. Great taste and truly delicious. If I am being picky the fried rice had a hint too much pepper but I liked it. Anyone who enjoys Chinese cuisine and are in the Memphis area should give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed on a Sunday at 5pm. Amazing Chinese food, great job, compliments to the chefs preparing my order. I appreciate it!
Wangs has been taking care of us for over 13 years. In all this time I can remember only once the order was not exactly correct. Fried not plain for a side rice. They show up within about 20 or so and the meals are too hot to get out of the bags. We love this place and are blessed to be close for delivery. We go nowherelse for Chinese food. The staff are kind. The staff are wonderful. The food is fabulous and the price might just break your heart (inna good way!) Although food was ready per the app, had to wait >10 minutes for the gentleman up front to get my food from the kitchen. Understandable, since he was bombarded with calls just as the December 2022 initial storm hit.
In terms of food, Singaporean Mai Fun was actually very Manchurian - HARDLY any Singaporean influence!...barely any curry flavor while shrimp and meat appear flavored in 'Mandarin spices'. It was the blandest Singaporean Mai Fun I have ever had. Should have guessed from the name of the restaurant...
Orange beef and General Tso's are better than average (not "amazing"). Pork fried rice is actually 5 out of 5. Crab Rangoon had zero crab (real or imitation). Egg and spring rolls were basic at best.
However portions and (post-COVID) prices are good. 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.
4 different entrees ordered. Excellent! Only issue was the Beef and Garlic could have had more beef in it, but otherwise excellent! Hot and Sour and Egg Drop soups best we've ever had! Egg rolls and Crab Rangoon exceeded all expectations!
