This was our second visit. We had gone a year ago and so enjoyed it. Being from Wisconsin, we don't often get to enjoy Southern cooking, so of course, I ordered Catfish and fried okra. My husband was excited to get both ribs and Catfish on a platter! Food was excellent, as was the service. We also ordered a pound of the smoked chicken salad to bring home for dinner after a 10 hour drive! It did not disappoint. My husband also had leftover Catfish we he exclaimed, "Just as good as yesterday!"

If you are in Memphis and looking to quench that Memphis BBQ foodie craving, this is THE spot! Bonus points for being within walking distance of Beale St. My wife and I were in Memphis for just a couple of days and were hunting for some of the best BBQ to try. This place makes me want to move to Memphis. I literally don’t know where to start. When I say everything was phenomenal, I mean it. From the brisket, to the coleslaw (I don’t even like coleslaw, but omg was this good), the Italian spinach, baked beans, rib tips, and homemade sauce. I wish I could remember the name of sweet woman who waited on my wife and I. She took her time to come over and chat with us and was the epitome of southern hospitality. This is a must try spot for anyone visiting Memphis. P.S. Google maps correctly takes you to an alley. Loop around and park in the grassy lot

Being more exact, I would actually give the food itself 4.5, it was very good, but not quite "loved it" quality: the ribs are only served dry and you have to apply sauce yourself, so they are just dry throughout; the flavor is there, but I prefer wet ribs. Beans are on point, fried okra was delicious, fries are fries, and the rolls were really good, felt like homemade, but could've used a hint of butter. Service was unexpectedly slow since there was almost nobody here when we showed up, but otherwise friendly. Atmosphere had a kind of sports bar feel to it. Not my thing.

What a gem this place is in Memphis. We were passing through on a road trip across country and stayed one night. There are thousands of restaurants to choose from and for some reason we were guided here. Once we got there, we knew why. Family owned and they make you feel like family. The food was incredible and that day we went, they didn’t have red meat. Only pork and chicken. We bought some of their BBQ sauce it was that good! Highly recommend this place. It’s going to be a go too and honestly hope this amazing restaurant ends up on a Netflix show that’s how good it is.

Being from KC I can say I have had lots of BBQ so I feel I can speak well. First I like the style of my ribs with sauce on the side. Most places put so much sauce it overpowers the rib. Having it on the side is nice. These ribs were just a bit tough and dry in a few spots. I would go 3.7 to 4 only because of that. My fiance went with brisket since I did ribs so we can share and try different things. Sadly the brisket is chopped instead of sliced then topped with bbq sauce. Sliced is always better and this tasted more like a dry roast beef. Blame it on us for not asking but wished the menu reflected it. Roll was good, coleslaw while very small was good. Fiance loved the beans. I had seasoned fries and I really didn't taste much of the seasoning. We also had a peach cobbler alamode and it was good. Now for the important stuff. It took our server 3 tries to bring me an unsweet tea. I am ok with one time but 3 is just silly. Next and it is visible on the menu so we knew and understood you will be charged 20% gratuity just for ordering. It looks like it is for dine in or take out but cannot confirm. I won't deduct a star for this because it is clearly labeled but I did not get 20% gratuity service so maybe I should deduct but again I won't. My receipt also showed a $3.50 dine in charge??? You are given 3 side options of fries, coleslaw, or beans. You can sub for an upcharge and it is clearly stated. What gets me is a regular side of fries was 3.49 and the season fries was 3.99 (which I felt seasoning hardly noticeable) which is 50 cents more. If you sub it in your meal you are charged a dollar more. Frustrates me to no end when restaurants do this. I feel it is shady and price gouging. Our meal ended up being over $77 for 2 people. It was nowhere near worth that cost. Their maybe better options in Memphis but we went by the ratings and 4.7 is not an accurate rating. I would give somewhere else a look if I were you.

If you’re in the downtown Memphis area make sure to save some time to check Arnold’s out! Before I even get to the food I gotta say the family that owns the place is absolutely awesome and treat you like family. Great people! On top of that the food was top notch, and being New Orleans area residents—it’s rare to find food we like when we travel. The fried catfish and the brisket plate were delicious and the sides were on point. The wife got the grilled chicken salad and loved it. Highly recommended, don’t miss out on this gem when in Memphis!

The bbq pulled pork is the best I’ve had. I lived all the options for sides. So many comfort food choices. I decided on Mac and cheese, coleslaw and baked beans. It was wonderful! Great and friendly service also.

The peach cobbler is amazing -- even after an excellent sandwich (I believe it was the BBQ sausage with coleslaw), and despite my usual lack of interest in dessert, I still wanted to try "the real thing"; it exceeded my expectations. The service was fantastic as well! The other items are the cowboy corn and fried okra -- also delicious.

Service was pretty nice. Cost of food was normal. Ordered some chicken nachos. They were just ok. Nothing special or different about them. I would visit here again to try other try things.
