We went there for lunch a great atmosphere the place was super clean service was excellent and the food was superb AAA+ just enough food to fill you up tea glass was never empty I highly recommend this place for sure!!!!!!
Everything they serve here is pretty good, better than most. But they excel at 3 things:
-hot and sour soup
-sesame chicken
-chicken fried rice
On those 3 things no one else comes close.
Other bonuses:
No msg is ever used.
It's a clean place.
The people are nice.
Service and price are very good.
Standard American/Chinese menu but a tad better than the average. Each dish we had was very fresh and cooked perfectly but nothing surprised me. Nothing stood out to make me want to return but if you like the standard American/Chinese menu this place is a good choice.The restaurant is very clean and our server was charming and efficient.
This take-out place has got excellent reviews (4.5 as of 2016) but it didn't live up to my expectations. The food was strictly average and at most a bit better than average but nothing going gaga over. Don't set your expectations very high if you are getting take-out food from Panda Garden!
My favorite Chinese place in Memphis!! The food is delicious, authentic and they do not use MSG which is great for people with sensitivity to that. I highly recommend! I love the fried shrimps, string bean beef or chicken, pork fried rice, sesame chicken. Pretty much anything is good!
I LOVE Asian food. Because I crave it so often, I've tried most (yes, really) of the Asian restaurants in Memphis; Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese. Panda Garden is my co-favorite (along with Sekisui Bartlett's hibachi table). I'm telling you-the soups at Panda Garden have to be among the best foods on this planet. I could eat their egg drop soup every single day. And if you're not feeling well, egg drop soup with it's chicken broth base has healing properties. Give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.
This place is great! We have ordered take-out from Panda Garden twice and were amazed at how good the food was. Service has been very friendly and fast both times we have gone as well. I am looking forward to dining in at this restaurant soon and trying more of the dishes on their menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for some good Chinese food in Memphis.
Neighborhood Staple. What can I cay? Everyone else seems to have covered it. It's a staple in the Berclair area and has been there for years, formerly as Formosa, but the food has always been the same. It's spoiled pretty much all other Chinese places for me, if you go there will see what I mean. The Fried Rice is spectacular, whether you just get egg fried rice or something meaty; it will be delicious. General Tso's, Sesame, Sweet and Sour are all good ways to get your chicken. If all that isn't enough; they have fried wanton, which many places in Memphis don't seem to have, and they are very good(the wanton soup is also really good).
The food and service have been outstanding in the 20 plus years we have patronized them beginning as Formosa and continuing those traditions by the new owners. Recommend heartily!!!!
I have been meaning to leave a review for this fabulous place! Everything is great here! The best Chinese food in memphis. My personal fave is the sweet and sour chicken. When I say that they have the freshest ingredients, I am telling the truth! The onions, green peppers, and pineapples in this dish ate sooo good and even after reheating the food, my onions n green peppers still crunch! Love this place! Only slight downside is that sometimes I get stale fortune cookies :( but I give them a pass since they aren't actually made there lol.
I’ve been getting takeout with my family here for years, and occasionally dining in. The food is delicious of course, and it’s such a great value. The people who work here are so lovely and nice. I was especially grateful for this place during the height of the pandemic – they have a drive thru pickup window, and they always were careful with safety precautions. This is my go-to for consistently good comfort food, and I will be back again soon
I LOVE the Panda Garden!! Been eating there for years and NEVER had a meal that wasn't delicious. The owners and staff always make me feel welcome and it is a pleasure eating there. How many places can you say that about? My 93 year old Mom won't let me take her ANYWHERE else!! Thank-you, Panda Garden for always making our visit so pleasurable. Want a suggestion for a great dish? Close your eyes and just put your finger down anywhere on the menu. I guarantee you will love it!
The food today was delicious. I had the lunch special and it was a great value for all I received. I would definitely be back soon. Plenty of parking space available out front. Friendly staff. Take out or dine in.

OMG! This was hands down the best thing I found in Memphis. I haven't had this kind of authentic Chinese cuisine in decades. At so many places it's like eating what is in the grocery store freezer.
Thier hot & source soup...amazing! Thier house fried rice...off the chain! The owners seemed like good nice people. Huge portions great prices!
We were too late for the lunch special so we ordered combo meals and added soup. The service was good and the food was hot. The restaurant was clean and tidy. My husband ordered sesame chicken expecting the dish to come with sauce but it was more like fried chicken nuggets. I ordered snow peas and chicken. The soup, egg rolls and crab puffs were very good. My husband didn’t like the fried rice.
Panda Garden is a great local place to eat. Their dishes are delicious, the service is very friendly and accommodating, and everything is prepared consistently and served quickly. You can eat in or take your food to go, and there is a drive-thru for quick pickup.
The parking lot is spacious and tidy, and the restaurant is easy to find and central to Memphis. I would consider it a hidden gem on Summer Avenue. Definitely go there if you're craving Chinese and a Chinese-American food.
I nearly forgot to mention - the chicken and shrimp fried rice is mind-blowingly good and features actual chicken and shrimp. Compared to other Chinese restaurants, I would rate it as top notch.
Need to try this place. The staff there is super friendly and are on top of assisting their customers. The food is good and the setting is nice as well
I usually get a pickup order at the drive up window. Delicious Asian style food with a big menu to choose from. The sweet and sour chicken pieces are so big and delicious. The Romeo and Juliette was a surprisingly great combo of flavors as well!
