A-tan Restaurant

I have eaten at A-Tan since childhood. Classic American Chinese restaurant, it’s not so fancy but quite good. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere, and takeout is also an option. Many items are delicious, including Kung Pao Shrimp, General Tso Chicken, and Tangerine Beef; their Hot and Sour soup is locally believed to relieve some cold and flu symptoms.

Our lunch experience here was wonderful. From the minute we walked in, we were greeted with a smile, and taken to a table. The menu has so many options, and it was very reasonably priced. I had green pepper steak, fried rice and soup. It was delicious and fresh. The serving size was plenty and our food came fast. My mom was friends with Mrs. A-Tan in the late 70’s. They met in a group called International Friends. I don’t leave this 5 star review because my mom knew this wonderful woman and amazing cook. I leave this 5 star review because my experience was wonderful and we can’t wait to go back. I only wish Mrs. A-Tan we’re still alive so they could have had a nice reunion. It was wonderful meeting her family members. They were all so nice. They didn’t know, until after our meal, about my mom’s connection to their mom so it’s not like we got special treatment. lol! They were awesome with everyone that came in the door. We enjoyed all of it!

This was our first time visiting this place for dine-in. It was really great though! The hibachi chef was fantastic and the food even better!!! We got tempura veggies as well and we loved those too. The sushi was also beautifully prepared for us, although, I wish the menu gave us better descriptions, as we would have chosen different ones. But they were beautiful!!!

I CANNOT rate this place high enough. I've never had hibachi that was so good, my mouth tingled with every bite! The portions were excellent, the flavor was excellent, the SOUP was excellent. All around a fantastic experience. We went as a 50th birthday celebration for my aunt and had an amazing time. It was also the first dining out experience I've had in years thanks to Covid and have been very anxious about doing so, but i felt very comfortable and safe with their precautions. 100/10. Can't wait to go again!

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. The food is always great, love the egg rolls and their spicy mustard. Never had a bad meal here and the service is always fast and they are always so nice. Great place for a quick lunch and they have an excellent lunch special each day. Highly recommend.

This place is a hidden gem in Memphis! Delicious Chinese food, friendly waitstaff and atmosphere. We stopped in after work for dinner & ordered from the House Speciality list. These entree’s come with choice of soup, an egg roll, and either fried or steamed rice. I had a cup of Hot & Sour that each spoonful was chockfull of tofu, mushrooms & shoots, it was yummy. The egg roll was regular fare, delivered fresh from the oven. My Roasted Duck was absolutely scrumptious, roasted perfectly; meat was juicy and tender, the skin crispy the accompanying sauce, full of flavor added to my bowl of steamed rice. A large portion called for a take home box of leftovers. Definitely recommend
