They are in my opinion the best. Also, they participate in UberEATS and the food is always amazing! Thank you all so much!
Love this place. Cozy, intimate, and high quality food and service. Makes me happy 😊
This was our favorite Indian restaurant in Memphis😀. The buffet was fantastic and the location is wonderful. Very clean and Pleasant nice family run restaurant.
The best Indian food in the Memphis area. I've tried them all and most are OK, but Golden India is the best! I eat there very often for lunch and their Thursday and Friday buffets are my favorite.
AMAZING. Absolute best Indian food in Memphis. Nothing compares to their Paneer Masala. Or their Bhindi Masala. So delicious! Wonderful service as well! Very friendly :) This is my favorite restaurant period in all of Memphis!
Golden India is my favorite Indian restaurant in Memphis so far. I love the small feeling and the relaxed, pleasant staff. The food is consistently terrific and worth the drive.
Consistently good. The servers are relaxed and pleasant, and the food is always delicious. The peshwari naan bread, with nuts and raisins, is very tasty. They have a lot of vegetarian options.
I think they have the best Indian lunch buffet in Memphis. The food quality is much higher than their competitors & the Indian desserts are delicious. It is hard to stop eating the desserts!
Golden India >>> India palace. I have recently made the switch from India Palace and what started out as an adventure in curiosity has become a mantra of epicurious delight. Love the food. Love the multiple choices and dishes on the buffet. Finally, Gajar Halwa for dessert FTW!
Amazing tandoori chicken! Their vegetable dishes are also incredible...I can't say enough about how delicious it was. Looking forward to trying the curry on my next visit!
Unfortunately hidden, but definitely great food. I always love going to this place. While it's usually very slow and relatively quiet inside, you're never disappointed with what you get. I usually opt for anything goat or lamb, and the curry is simply spot on. When everything is said and done, you're almost feeling guilty at how inexpensive everything is; that's where tipping generously should come into play.
Still, while this place is usually voted among the best of Indian places in Memphis, I personally think it's the best simply because of the great vegetarian options and the unpretentious feel to the place.
Home-like restaurant. Kind of expensive, better try it out first during the buffet time. Is a good Indian restaurant, good staff and nice location with a big parking lot.
Grabbed takeout lunch of Saag Paneer, garlic naan and vegetarian Samosa. The Saag Paneer was pretty good, I like my good with a nice kick of spice, which they accommodated. The Samosa was nicely filled and freshly made. Portion-wise I would have liked a little more Saag Paneer but overall it was a delicious lunch. Made me want to try their lunch buffets
Amazing authentic Indian food. We tried the vegetable samosas, paneer pakora, butter chicken and tandoori shrimp masala. All the food was perfect. Ordered the butter chicken medium, and it was medium. I recommend you give this place a try especially if you like Indian food and if you don't, still give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
Tandoori chicken: Chicken marinated in yogurt and spices, cooked over red hot charcoal in the tandoor grill.
Mushroom Bahjee: Curried mushroom with sautéed onion and peas.
Chicken curry and Garlic Naan bread.
The best. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Tandoori chicken, chicken and mushroom curry, garlic Naan, tandoori shrimp masala. I love this place. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is by far the best Indian food in Memphis. I've made it a point to try other places to compare them to this place. Other places are good, but Golden India is the best. I enjoy their Thursday and Friday buffets. Each day they server a regular menu on the buffet, so you always know what you're getting depending on the day you visit the buffet. I've discovered that Indian food is kind of like chicken and dumplings. It might all be the same stuff, but each granny has her own recipe, so no two are identical. The same is with Indian food. I think Golden India has the best recipes.
I was surprised to find they did NOT have a weekday lunch buffet. Visited Nov. '23. I did get a lunch special that was outstanding. Very high quality.
Indian- Punjabi/ North Indian cuisine restaurant in downtown Memphis(Madison Avenue).
The Chai was a bit less boiled to my taste but good. The Dal Makhni and Paneer Masala were good curries. The butter Tandoori rotis were really good too. So overall 4 stars to the food taste and rate wise. Deducting a star for the dim ambiance and less quantity of the curries.
Great food, very nice host and waitress, dessert was great but I love the garlic naan so much. Must try if you’re in the area
Parking was a little hard to find, so we went to the garage around the corner. $5 flat rate. The food was delicious. We got Assorted Snack Appetizer, Chicken Tikka, Lamb Korma, Palak Paneer, Garlic Naan, and Mango Lassi. We showed up at 8pm on a Saturday evening and were the only ones there (by the time we finished it filled out). Decor is sparse and it's not a very big restaurant. There's no Bollywood playing. But none of that matters because the food was so good. The appetizer is a great value as it came with 2 samosas, 2 fried onions, and 2 fried veggie. Crispy, tasty, and a little spicy. The Palak tasted scorched so we told the hostess and a replacement came faster than expected. However, it was a bit bland. This was the only thing we didn't like. The Korma was the star and we would come here again just for that. Prices were appropriate.
Food was wonderful, and the portions were perfect. The only reason lacking two stars in Atmosphere, the place mats are children activities.
Absolutely delicious food every time, the staff is really nice and the menu options are great. In my experience, it's never really super crowded so it's nice for a quieter, more intimate setting compared to the busier areas in Midtown
