We had a good experience here. The brisket had more fat on it than I am used to. I was able to eat around the fatty parts. They had a couple of burnt ends in my plate; those are my favorite. The BBQ beans were very good. Overall a good experience. The decor was nice also. Several of the tabletops were of natural wood with the bark still on the side, quite rustic.
We were wanting to try some real Memphis BBQ while we were in town and this place was recommended. My husband who is extremely critical of food, loved everything he ordered. I got a pulled pork sandwich and potato salad. He got pork nachos and a 3 meat combo plate. Everything was really good. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area!
We are in town for our National Holy Convocation of The Church of God In Christ, Inc. My mother and friends were hungry after service. We went in. The young lady was very cordial and took our orders. They give you a number you find your seat, and they bring your food to you. I had the 3 meat plate. Brisket, half slab of ribs( dry and wet) and smoked turkey, green beans, and mac and cheese. The sides were seasoned very well. If the meats just had a little more seasoning. But other than that the food was delicious 😋.
This is my favorite BBQ spot in Memphis. There are so many BBQ places to try, but Centrals BBQ is my go-to. The Poplar and the Downtown locations are my favorite. Usually, I order the half nacho and wings wet (buffalo), but recently, I tried the salad. It was prepared in a fried tortilla bowl. Very delicious. If you are a tourist visiting from out of town, check this place out.
Central Barbeque was recommended by numerous local people when we told them we were visiting in Memphis and wanted to get the best ribs. The ribs were really good. So were the potato salad and onion rings. My wife reports that the women’s bathroom was immaculately, clean and wonderfully appointed. You don’t have to pay extra for drinks. I know these are little things, but they add up to make a wonderful experience.
I really enjoy Central BBQ
Had the pulled pork sandwich with slaw, spicy BBQ sauce... love the hot BBQ sauce, and the vinegar BBQ sauce. Homemade chips are so fresh, crispy with some seasoning on them. Mac n cheese was tasty and sweet tea was perfect.
We are from out of town and got recommendations to this place from some locals. It was absolutely amazing food! And the perfect day to sit out on the porch.
In town for business. Decided to get some BBQ. Ordered the pulled pork platter. It was great! Side or beans and slaw. @food_from_the_usa
Food was excellent, all the staff were very friendly and polite, and the vibe in the restaurant was cool and modern. Many tables were clean. For my husband and I both, it was about $35. There was an altercation between a group of customers in the parking lot while we were there, and the staff was very quick to respond and make the group leave. The staffs response felt very appropriate and well handled.
Would recommend eating here again!
Food was good but not super worth the price. It ended up being $110 for 4 people, and though you get a sizeable amount of food, it’s not to die for. I had the beef brisket plate with slaw and Mac and cheese. I think the slaw stole the show. I did like the BBQ sauce!
