Great atmosphere, I like the merchandising.
Food: I don’t like the sweet potatoes pancake. The traditional one was better. The rest was good.
Service: 80% of the staff were good. I wish my waitress was looking more the room and was more on top of things. One of them seems to be really annoyed or done with her job.
The Restroom were dirty.
All four plates ordered were delicious. Country ham, Turkey sandwich, chocolate chip pancakes with chocolate gravy (tastes like chocolate sauce) and deep fried French toast. I hope these pictures help someone who is considering one of these plates.
Historic diner with GREAT breakfast! It’s crazy to think that this diner/restaurant has been around since the 1920s. Soon as you walk in your greeted, it was about noon and it was pretty full so there may be some wait but it wasn’t more than waiting for a table to be cleaned to sit us down. Had the sampler and I have to say this was the best French toast I have ever had. Deep fried French toast was the highlight. The sweet potato pancake was really good too! Food is inexpensive and the service was pretty good.
What a historical place to have a tasty meal! This restaurant is the oldest one in Memphis and it has become a legend since 1919. Elvis used to have breakfast here and enjoyed his favorite sandwich with bananas and peanut butter. Some scenes from some famous movies have been recorded here. The food is delicious and takes you back in history. Elvis's booth is the last one to the left. Go and enjoy the delicious meals of this iconic place!
Went with a large group of 12 and our waitress did pretty well getting our orders taken care of and drinks out. I ordered the grilled cheese and it was ok but nothing to make it stand out. We also ordered Mudslide pancakes those were good! We liked the experience and will definitely be back.
Old school (been around since 1912) charming vibe, large portions of delicious food and very attentive service.
The nostalgic interior is amazing. The food is better ! Bloody Mary’s in the morning is always a great time. Breakfast was worth the wait , restaurant was busy.
Did I mention Chocolate gravy ???!!! Damn good !
This was so fun! Food was great! They do a great job of getting you in. Service and Staff are super nice very fast and kind. Our group had breakfast and lunch all of it was great! Be sure and have a Bloody Mary. Hamburger are really good. Try the #6 Counrty Ham. Coffee and Espresso very good.
It's a fun place to visit while in Memphis. The service was good. They checked on us regularly. The food was okay. My thing was they were so busy there were tables that hadn't been cleaned yet. The first table we chose to sit at was dirty. We chose a less dirtier table, but still, with people running in and out of the store, you'd hope that they'd clean. Overall, it was a fun experience.
Very cool nostalgia for all those people looking for a place to eat where the stars have eaten. An Elvis favorite, we tried the peanut butter banana sandwich. Look for Elvis’ booth, and check out photographs of many celebrities who have visited the restaurant. Great atmosphere at the corner of the streets which were the busiest in Memphis once upon a time.
