Great place to grab a drink or to have a romantic dinner, family dinner... Either way, food and drinks are always amazing. I’ve been eating here for years; and quality’s always great. Not your typical restaurant spot, even better. And please, try the ice cream, made from scratch and they are the best.

For the best fine dining in Memphis, you need look no further.
Today was our second trip. The daily fish, Red Snapper, was
outstanding! The service is impeccable. I will be going back soon. The customer truly comes first at River Oaks.

Great experience! The service was good and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. The drinks were well made. We loved both cheese appetizers, beet salad and all of our entrees. The lamb was especially good. Both desserts were a little of a miss (just comparing to the rest of the phenomenal dinner) but they both got eaten for sure. The chocolate fondant cake was a little dry and the pastry on the apple dish was tough to chew. All of the plating was beautiful, maybe the best I've seen in town. Plenty of parking. Overall definitely do recommend.

I enjoyed the visit here, but I think I need to try it one more time to affirm. The service is good. Portions of food are small, which is usually the case for fine dining. I left perfectly satisfied with leftovers, but if you are used to larger portions, this may not be your spot or order extra. The dishes we're prepared textbook style for the most part, I would have liked to have seen more. The only true detractors I have are the dining area is condensed, and the traffic is hard to navigate on Poplar, yet still, I plan to come back out one day!

I just love River Oaks. To be fair, out of the 200 times I've gone, I've gotten the same thing 198 times! The short rib is always amazing! I swap out the potatoes with the cauliflower risotto. OMG!
I enjoy sitting at the bar. Very laid back. Every bartender so far have served awesome old fashions as well. Decent whiskey/bourbon list. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants.

Good place to dine and converse with friends. The Monday special, Lobster and pasta in a light cream sauce was delicious. Others enjoyed the scallops and pasta. Service was great and we could actually hear one another!! Will definitely head there on our next visit to Memphis.

Nice atmosphere and great service. I had a good French 75, people at my table ordered mojitos and had to ask for simple syrup. TV dinner was great, but it’s different day to day. Other than that, other people at table ordered French dip and the pastrami sandwiches, liked them! Great restaurant overall!
